I think the system is way better than before having dedicated judges to each music section but I think they should have kept the switching of judges from prelims to finals.

I think some people have it due to them being apart of the finalist bands but won't release it due to the directors I think.

It's already on Compsuite, but I don't have access to it.

since 2021 there has always been a wild visual judges in prelims in this area so if this turns to an only prelims comp then cy fair might get fried

I feel like Woodwind and percussion can all be interchanged within the top 4 and guard can also get taken by 7L

Not just CFISD, but places like pearland and HISD areas like that for more diverse competition than just a smaller area comp preview. I think they should decrease finals by just a tiny bit from 14 to 10 for more competition

Tompkins just got added (via their calendar), this comp is looking a lot like a preview for Katy marching festival.

yeah many of the Katy ISD bands are going to south Houston, Tompkins just got added in a couple of days ago

supposed to be how the past thought the future would be, should be very slow and not as loud and exciting as the past two years but should be better

tompkins show is "yesterdays tomorrow"

I don't know if this is just me, but I feel like when they announce results at area finals, they should 1st through 5th first, and then 10th through 6th after so there isn't as much awkward silence before 6th being announced.

With Cy Woods added it is shaping up to be even more competitive than years before.

Who would be a realistic big shocker to make it to Area finals(if any) and which band would surprise you if they fell out of finals, realistically? Not to be disrespectful, but if Morton Ranch cleans up just a tiny bit of everywhere, I see them getting 10th or at least top 12, and a shocker would be Tompkins, since they've really only been on the edge in this area other than 2023 but they have finals DNA where it would be very surprising if they fell out.

Listening in from all the people in high school region, it seems that the show reveals might be a little bit earlier for the katyisd schools like Paetow, Mayde Creek, 7L, Tompkins, and Taylor.

When would the schedule/list of bands come out?

Taylor, they've been in the top 7, always being within 2 of a state spot, and making it in 2022, so I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor is able to take the 4th or 5th spot and take a spot from a contender from Katy like Jordan, Cinco, Tompkins, maybe even 7L, but that might be a stretch, as tompkins jordan or cinco have been able to produce strong contending show for a state spot past 3 years.

It could just be me and the way I saw it but based on these 4 bands levels this year, visuals might be the deciding factor since the music score is pretty consistent at most competitions each year but the visual score varies, usually to judging (3 of the 4 bands mentioned had a wide gap between visual scores this year), since Paetow had a huge jump from 2023 but JV and LC not improving or stepping back from 2023 and cy ranch with a slight fall back from 2023 and 2024 battle at the berry.
