    Area C is really deep for sure. But Area B may very well take two medals this year. Super strong at the top. It’s really as wide open as it’s been in a long, long time.

    NC was pretty good. Only had about 5 minutes of drill though. I’m sure they’ve got more coming of course. I would imagine they were in the lower half of the top 10 as is.

    Agree with this. Top 5 perform last 5. But still using the order as dictated by the published list. For instance, if China Spring is top 5, they will perform last in finals unless bands 22-26 are also top 5. that’s my understanding at least

    Gatesville was strong. They did very well at the last contest at Springtown as well. And yesterday they got two 1s from judges even in prelims. So judges really liked the show overall and scores were consistently good from all 5. I personally did not expect second but it makes sense with how things have been shaping up for them all season.

    I’ve seen you guys a few times this year and I think you should go in with confidence. At this point you aren’t making major changes before Saturday. But if everyone is focused up you can expect a finals run. At Springtown you beat a couple of the other perennial finalists in area D. You can beat them again. I’m pulling for you guys. You made state last year and it’s a realistic goal again this year.

    You may be right. But following most of area D all season, I’ve seen CS separate themselves. Last week at the Sound of Springtown contest it was neck and neck with Canton and only a few Points out of 1000 separating them. Canton was the better band that day in my opinion. The other area D bands definitely have a shot to make state. Seems like a two band race to win area but I’m often surprised.
