  1. KC!!!!!!!!!! INCREDIBLE JOB!!!! So so SO happy to see them hit their stride this year!
  2. Rouse! This was my first time seeing any show of theirs and the hype is definitely worth it!! FOR SURE in the finals conversation, well done!!
  3. WESTWOOD!!! Incredibly well done! (it took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize it was a wizard of oz show 💀)
  4. Really loved Cedar Park! My first time seeing them this season and they did not disappoint! A couple weaker moments here and there, a little bit of dirt, but they will have no trouble making it into finals!
  5. JBA was the first show I got to catch after my class (college made me miss Cedar Ridge 😭 but I'll get to see them tomorrow night anyway) and WOW they were great! I always enjoy what I see of their shows and this year is no exception, they sounded and looked (especially) great!
  6. Well, time for my predictions. Definitely gonna forget a few bands so my apologies in advance. This comp is gonna be impossible to predict accurately. Panel 1 Locks: Ronald Reagan Claudia Taylor Johnson Flower Mound Marcus Panel 2 Locks: Cedar Ridge Vista Ridge Cedar Park Vandegrift Coppell Hebron The Woodlands That makes 11 bands, with one open top 5 spot in panel 1 and 2 of panel 2 locks are in the next 4, leaving 3 spots open. Panel 1 last spot Contenders: James Bowie Round Rock Lake Travis Leander Timber Creek Keller Pearland Cy-Fair Out of these I would say Round Rock or Keller look the strongest to me (even after a week showing at area last weekend, I got to see Keller's show tonight and it feels much cleaner and more complete. Definitely not a lock given results thus far, but their show seems to be reaching its peak.) The last 2 spots seem to be anyone's game. James Bowie Westlake Keller/Round Rock (Counting them as one since I think one of them will make it into the top 5) Lake Travis Hendrickson (? Them not going to Waco makes them a wild card to me) Rouse Leander Timber Creek LD Bell Pearland Cy-Fair Waxahachie That is 11-12 bands competing for 2 spots. To narrow it down just a bit, here are the 5 bands I could see making it into these 2 spots. Westlake Keller/Round Rock Rouse Leander Pearland That leaves my final list at this: Ronald Reagan Claudia Taylor Johnson Flower Mound Marcus Cedar Ridge Vista Ridge Cedar Park Vandegrift Coppell Hebron The Woodlands Keller Round Rock Westlake (Not ordered whatsoever) Dear lord that was hard. I feel like my opinion on Keller *could* just be cope, but I was incredibly impressed by what I saw tonight compared to every other time I have seen their show.
  7. Well done to everybody who advanced! Incredibly proud of all these programs and it is GREAT to see Bell back in state! Unfortunate for KC but this bodes INCREDIBLY WELL for their future! Well done!!!
  8. frantically refreshing rn even tho results always take a comically long time
  9. I'd be interested in seeing this if it doesn't bother you!
  10. Keller's score seemed to be tanked by by a few harsh judges, as is tradition at this point haha. Interested to see how they will be affected by a much closer performance to the other powerhouses in finals. Also, Bell nearly SWEPT visual! I definitely understand why, and it is a little disappointing to see them tanked by their music, but it is definitely the weakest part of their show so still not too surprising. (this is all assuming this file is correct, of course haha)
  11. ...and that makes 3 Area performances in a row where Keller has gone first. They just can't catch a break at this contest!
  12. 3 KISD bands at state would be MASSIVE. Pulling for my friends at Keller, TC, and KC tonight! You guys got this!!
  13. Does anyone know where to find score sheets? If memory serves me correctly they’re usually out by now
  14. Yikes, this is looking to be a year that rivals 2017 in scores. Is it too late to expand finals to 20 bands? Jokes aside, for band members in those bands on the bubble (Coppell, Keller, Leander, etc.) don’t lose hope! It all comes down to the day. Enjoy your season and throw when you get to the dome! (And for my usual Keller bias- I have high hopes of what they will be able to do for the rest of the season. It’s going to be hard, and they are going to HAVE to earn it, but if anyone can take back their season, it would be them.)
  15. Has anyone heard anything about Mineola? I know they are pretty great when it comes to UIL 3A but I haven't heard of them going to a BOA event ever! (Also here's a fun fact: My dad is an alum of the Mineola Band!)
  16. Given what I have heard from Houston and Austin, as well as what I saw last night in DFW, my picks are Coppell, Rouse, Round Rock, and Keller (if they can clean up the drill and the design, they won't have much trouble topping Bell imo)
  17. Definitely surprised by the size of some of these gaps! Especially Coppell and Marcus! The Keller alum in me is a bit disappointed about how things played out- but hey! It's just band, and everyone should be incredibly happy with how they did tonight! (Also- don't be quick to count Keller out of great things. They have the two most valuable assets a band can have- room to grow and time! So proud of my band family!!)
  18. VERY QUICK amendments: Hebron over FloMo VERY comfortably Coppell over Marcus by a small amount- for some reason Marcus' music didn't have the same punch to it as last weekend. Wakeland jumps up to 5th (STILL want them to play a bit more conservatively at some bits, but their ballad really won me over this time) Keller crosses the gap by a small margin Bell- didn't love their musical performance tonight but I could see them ahead of Keller by visual cleanliness Waxahachie- LOVE this show Timber- A little rough around the edges but still great Lone Star- They shocked me tonight! Rock Hill- SUCH a cute show James Martin- Good show, and I am very glad they managed to crack finals Hebron either sweeps or gives GE to FloMo Wow, tonight was nuts. One of the best early season finals I have ever seen. Everyone who performed today and tonight should be incredibly proud!
  19. Totally! From what I've heard, they might actually find themselves in that 6-10 bubble, but only time will tell!
  20. I get that- I was talking more in terms of how polished they were compared to everyone else, but I would agree that they weren't incredibly dominant, just very, VERY clean.
