  1. Queen City's inconsistent results is why I feel I'm taking a gamble by predicting that they'll end up so high, I believe that they can do it but it's going to require putting on another performance akin to area finals or even better, and assuming Whitesboro, Farmersville, and many others haven't caught up since they last encountered each other at Princeton earlier this year. Although Princeton was a very long time ago before area, and also I believe they used a somewhat different style of judging, so only time will tell.
  2. Here are my predictions for the Finalists at 3A state, based off the area contests, invitationals, and how I've seen some of these bands perform. Honestly I don't think these predictions are very accurate, I've never been good at making them, and many of these bands are doing so well this year I think the top 7 or 8 could all go absolutely any way depending on how they perform. 1st- Mineloa 2nd and 3rd: Between Queen City and Whitesboro (Both of these are bold statements I know, but Queen City has shown past potential to beat Whitesboro at contests such as Princeton, but I think just as easily Whitesboro could come back and beat both them and Mineloa. Queen City has been a bit mixed in their results throughout the year though, so they could just as easily be much lower. This statement is pretty much a bold guess based purely off the Princeton contest) 4th- Clifton 5th- Farmersville 6th- Holiday (Although Holiday beat Whitesboro at both area prelims and finals, and Farmersville made a huge leap to finish 1st in that same area finals, I think state will be a different story, as it is with many bands from area to state) 7th-Yoe 8th- New Diana 9th and 10th I honestly have no clue, I haven't seen enough performances from other bands to tell. I think it's likely that QC will just finish in the middle of finals too, and/or Whiteboro will beat Mineloa, they're yet to compete so we'll see.
  3. I had Carrizzo Springs in the wrong class, but according to UILs own score website Dilley still got a 3rd division, which would mean they did not advance to area since more than 1 3As in that 3A got 1s.
  4. Awards were scheduled for 10:15, does anyone have the results or will we have to wait until USBands updates them online? https://trigonroad.com/yea/eventDetail.cfm?searchState=&eventID=1821
  5. I'm from Texarkana too, and I can say without a doubt LE was 1st division this year, I didn't get to see the region performance live so I can't say if it just went bad during the run or the results just ended up like that, but when I saw it live earlier at NETX I honestly thought it was the best performance LE had in years. Next year I really hope they get it because they are a highly improved group from years past and have put out a great product this year.
  6. Just added live stream archive links for region 4, if you can find any other archived streams or videos of bands to link on to here, that would be great! Will also update the results at the end of the day after all of today's contests are over and results are entered.
  7. 3A state is certainly going to be tougher than it's been in years, for once it actually seems like there isn't a particular band dominating for first like QC did for several years and Whitesboro has these past 2 state years, it's actually going to be a real fight for first and definitely a fight for any top spot whatsoever.
  8. Looks like Queen City beat Whitesboro at the sounds of the fall classic, I've seen a lot else of 3A also and these bands mean business this year.
  9. I'll update it now! I was waiting for them to come out because they weren't on by the end of yesterday.
  10. Although these results are always archived on texasmusicforms, I would like to put all the results as they come out in a large thread to allow people to discuss them and their predictions for the upcoming area and state contests All results are from texasmusicforms Can someone who knows more about the rules please explain advancement more to me. There's a lot of regions where the minimum of 2 bands in a class getting a 1 isn't being reached, and I believe according to the rules that would mean the next highest band(s) will advance to area, but I am not sure if I understand this rule properly. Can someone please confirm that this is correct? 12. What are your predictions for who makes the state marching contest, along with rankings for this year? I don't have any personal opinions of my own, (just a high schooler who doesn't pay much attention to the bands outside my competition), but I'm interested to see what everyone thinks.
