  1. 1. Vista Ridge 2. Vandegrift 3. West lake 4. Leander All four advance to state, as announced on PA at stadium.
  2. I am on the 50. Awaiting results now.
  3. As an NISD parent, I'm interested in how the realignment of the Area groups happened. Sure feels like gerrymandering to give more Austin-area schools a path to State. I know, I know... It will force the NISD schools to get better, but the results from Area D and Area H do tell the story. I'm not up on the differences between UIL and BOA judging. You've said Johnson's show is geared toward BOA... Could you explain what makes something a good show for UIL vs. BOA?
  4. Thanks for pointing me to that. I hadn't read through the Area D thread. Just looked odd that they weren't judged in finals. I saw them perform earlier this season and would have been surprised if they hadn't advanced. My other question still: What's the point of designating an "alternate" band to state? I was at Area H tonight and Brandeis was announced as the alternate. Under what circumstances would an alternate get to play at state? (It seems that Johnson avoided this problem in Area D by not competing in the finals so it didn't come down to them declining the spot.)
  5. Yep, they finally put them all up. Thanks! https://www.uiltexas.org/music/marching-band/area Anyone know what happened with Johnson in Area D? Did well enough in the prelims but it looks like they didn't perform in the finals and were replaced by Anderson. What can lead to disqualifications? Do "alternates" ever make it to State?
  6. Brandeis definitely came in fifth as first alternate, as it was announced that way to the crowd. (I was there.) I'm really eager to see the judging sheet to see how close all of this was. Does anyone have that? All I can find is the prelim judging sheet.
