It is pretty predictable as far as which bands will make area finals, but each band will have to go out on their finals run and really make it count. Almost every state year one band has placed in the top 4 for prelims, but not finals.

This is a neat little video on Cy-Fair's show. I'm not completely certain on the concept yet.

Yeah that would be nice. I think Langham Creek was the last to make finals back in 2006 and in 2004 both Langham and Clements made finals. It would be nice to have at least one area E represented in finals.

Morton Ranch always does a good job of putting on a good show early on in the season. They definitely have the opportunity to make some noise this year. And kgs which band are you referring to? I don't recall that happening.

I agree with the fact that some shows are more complicated which is why they take awhile to get a higher score, but another thought is that some of those late bloomers are constantly improving. That doesn't go for all bands. Some have a great start, but hit their peek mid-season, and others continually get better even days before their last competition.

It will be interesting to see who all makes it to state this year. I feel like there will be some surprises just as there were in 2012. My top contenders would have to be Clements, Seven Lakes, Langham Creek, Cypress Falls, and Cy Fair. I wish more bands would be at area that way we could have five bands advance instead of four. This area has a lot of talent for so many schools in a small area.
