Basic Rules of Forums Usage:
Forums are meant to encourage conversation, including disagreements over topics. A post should only express your opinion and never be at the expense of others.
Texas is a big state and the there are many good bands. Bear in mind that everyone works as hard as you, so don't overhype your band too much.
Any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to: cussing, vulgarity, posting adult content, disrespecting other members, and abusing site resources.

Conduct:
We ask that all our members respect each other and try their best to understand and resolve conflicts. Flaming and name-calling are both childish and immature. Bear in mind that this board is populated by parents, teachers, students, and professionals, and anything you say can and will reflect on you as a person and your band program.
 
Act responsibly; you know what is and is not appropriate.
Spamming:
Spamming is the easiest way to degrade a forum and make it hard and unpleasant to read. Because of this, spamming will not be taken lightly. All irrelevant spam posts will be deleted. If this continues to be a problem, personal action can be taken.
 
These rules are all very simple and easy to follow, please do your best to act by them. Site admin and moderators have the final word in all conflicts and are free to act upon their best judgment. If a conflict or event that is not covered under these rules comes to light, the moderators and admin have final judgment. If you believe a moderator has treated you unfairly, report it to a super moderator or an admin.

As a courtesy to others it would be appreciated if you provided your school information in your signature. nobody really knows. the apparent documented case has been distorted so much through story telling that nobody knows if its real. but i was actually there because it happened to me.

I'd like to point out that this event at least didn't involve any Georgetown Band members. I have no excuses for random Georgetown HS students. It seems like she wasn't involved in any school related organizations, but it is still unfortunate that she had to behave that way.

I signed on to this forum for one reason only, and that is to express my sadness after seeing last night's contest at Duncanville. I miss bands like Sunset High with their high steppers, and generally feel sad that the band of America contests now boil down to who is willing to spend the money on large sets, and marching techs. Yes the kids do work hard in these bands, and the shows they present do look wonderful. Nevertheless, it is my take that given the right amount of funds, a band like Sunset High could perform and do just as well as any of these bands that won top spots in the contest last night 10-29-11. I'm not sure one can take pride in spending large sums of money? I'd love to see an even playing field, but that's never going to happen. It's ashamed for schools that have little or no financial resources. I don't have any kids at Sunset High, but I'd sure like to see them out high stepping!!

I remember getting on the arcade everyday in comp sci when I finished my program just to try and beat Danpod's score on space invaders because that was the only one he didn't completely DOMINATE. Also I love all the inside jokes I have between people. :] I know those aren't really pranks, scandals or controversies but I wanted to bring up a dead thread to make Danpod mad because I know he hates it.

Shout out to everybody out there from the BOA forums- and to anybody else.

I checked them out earlier and all went great.

Every time they do a live blog they need to update the score section after they are done so others can easily find previous and not let scores disappear off into space.

I tried to help send updates on the directory numerous times for a while but they haven't been changed the information is getting out of date.

Agreed, but we REALLY needed the encouragement. The Area B marching contest is a bloodbath as it is... haha.
Not to mention it started to rain as we were in the 'ready' position prior to our pre-show. We can proudly say that our Preliminary performance at Area was one of our best yet!

"band-Ing" Together for Joplin High School Band and the Little Elm High School Marching Band is trying to help the Joplin Eagle Pride Band get back to music they are in desperate need of instruments as well as many other things so that can actually have a marching season! As most of you know Joplin, Mo has recently faced a devistating tornado which destroyed a huge part of their town as well as their school and everything in it. They have lost all their instruments as well as music, uniforms and everything else we have in a band hall. We realize as Human beings there are more importan issues than things which can be replaced. We are hoping by establishing this fan page we can reach other bands in the USA that are willing to help raise money for band Students as well as their families who have lost everythng! As most of you know if your child is in band music is a huge part of their life and if we can give them a little bit of joy back to help them get started it wil be worth it.
