  1. Does anyone know where I can listen to a recording of my flute solo? It's Sicilienne from "Pelleas et Melisande" and it's by Gabriel Faure. Please help if you can
  2. I've only seen our drum majors salutes (the both have the same one) I think it's lame. My boyfriend, whos a junior, was telling me about some of the ones they had in the past. One year, the DM had a tux as his uniform so he jsut like bowed. And last year I think it was ,the DM had REALLY long hair, and his salute, he like bent over really quick and stuck out his arm and flipped his hair over.
  3. I would be terribly freaky in someone in my section dated a fellow section person, because are ALL GIRLS! lol....the beauty of the flutes!
  4. I like that part too. Also, "contiue swimming mtion" and "I am never playing this thing agian!" For anyone that things this is real, find the spot where ie says "this is actually unplayable." "These frog jokes are getting lame"
  5. Yea...that was a bad game. Very bad...our band was accused of leaving before playing the alma mater, and also before our halftime show, HP kids were throwing Skittles at us. That was rude.
  6. We basically just have a band placement test at the high school. Just before marching season is over, we have our auditions and our chair and band is decided by the performnacne. The only way you can change chairs is to challenge. At the JH, we had chair tests alot though.
  7. Anthony Robinson- Head director. He's a good director, and definatly knows what he's doing. He knows music really well. He tells stories sometimes that are funny, but currently he's really uptight about going to Iraq (can't blame him) and he's being rather rude. Alexia Riser- She a pretty good director, she's still really new though. She's only been a director for 4 years. In class she's cool. Outside of class, she's a witch. Josie Ross- I don't know aobut her. She can teach music, but she's too nice about it. One of our senior flute players swear you hate her after she looks at you after you play something, and keeps a smile and says "That was absolutly horrible!" and sounds cheerful about it. Cliffton Walker- Gosh, he's young. He's a good director. He loves dynamics. He's been teaching for 2 years, but he's good. He's our marching and symphonic director. he's the same in class as he is out of class. I swear sometiems he had a sex change. hes PMSs like crazy! Miss Davis- I have no clue. I've never b3een under her direction.
  8. I'm doing a solo, flute quartet, and woodwind choir. I only have my music for my solo though. It's called Sicilienne and it's by Gabriel Faure`. I can play it, but I'm not real sure about it yet.
  9. I want marching season back because for concert season, we have our honor and symphonic bands. I'm last flute in the honor band (we have like 8) and I get in trouble for hanging out with shymphonic band members. Actually, I get in trouble for not being in my chair with my flute 25 minutes before class starts. Our director is a jerk. He wonders why no one respects him, and it's because he goes around and makes freshmen who have been doing what they are supposed to all year cry. Anyways, for UIL, we are looking at a duel program. We are either playing Klaxon March, Old Scottish Melody and October OR the Klaxon March, Vesuvius, and Ghost Fleet.
  10. We have around 150, and probably less when we go back after winter break because the directors are supposed to be cutting about 20 people that are basically usless to the band. I think we are 5A I have no clue actually. I used to know though.
  11. I think Westridge Overture has been my faviorite. We haven't played much concert stuff yet, and I'm only a freshman so I'm sure this is gonna change. Some of the sound effects in Ghost Fleet are cool.
