I just finished watching every single video I could find of every state qualifying band. Here's my hot take (that will probably be wrong). I only watched videos from the past week or 2, so things could definitely change by Monday. 1. Cedar Park 2. Rouse 3. Lone Star 4. Wakeland 5. Aledo 6. Leander 7. Lebanon Trail 8. Burleson Centennial 9. Argyle 10. Hendrickson 11. Friendswood 12. Midlothian On the Bubble: Richland, Lake Belton, Hays, Roma (In no particular order)

Poteet is CRAZY strong this year! Way stronger than last year. They also have a really good prelims performance time slot. I see them in the 14th-19th range currently, but we'll see what they fix and clean this week!

I don’t think SV is a lock for state this year. I think the new judging system is going to make them drop. Their brass style is bold and brash, I don’t think the brass judge is gonna like that. They could still make it though! I just don’t think they’re a lock.

Does anyone know when results are being announced?

This has happened on multiple occasions in the past... If an Area completes prelims and then the sky opens up and it starts to rain, they will most likely take the results of prelims as the "finals" result.

I would move MN up to 5th/6th, but I am in love with this list!

Quite frankly, it’s honestly insane that a school like Reedy can beat Sachse, the former 6A Area C Champion. It’s a shame that Reedy doesn’t have enough conversations about potentially getting a state spot, but I know that it’s a competitive area. I think it’s time for Frisco ISD to take a page out of Leander ISD’s book and have a couple of schools in 6A to spread the love. Just imagine if Wakeland and Lone Star moved up to 6A and freed up a couple of state spots for other Frisco ISD/non-FISD schools to have a chance in the Alamo Dome.

I definitely think The Colony will make finals this year, but I just can’t see them in the Top 6. A couple of weeks ago, Reedy beat Sachse at a marching contest (completely forgot which one). The Colony was quite a few points off from Sachse at Birdville. I could see them in the conversation for 7th-10th for sure though! They’ve had a really amazing season so far and the kids are really buying into the show theme this year.

Last weekend, BN beat Duncanville at a USBands contest by a full point. Things can definitely change this weekend, but it seems like they’re both having a great year!

Love the list! I'm still coming up with mine. I'm worried about Weiss since they are the very first band to perform. I hope they don't get lost in the mix because they do have a finals worthy show this year.

I could see Midlothian beating Azle, but overall, I love this early prediction!
