elementwrx Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Was there tonight, here's what I remember: Class A 1) Granger HS (only band) - High Brass, WW, Percussion Class AA 1) Harker Hights - High Brass, WW, Percussion, and Drum Majors 2) ?? 3) ?? Class AAA 1) ?? Class AAAA 1) Medina Valley 2) Marble Falls ---Captions were pretty much evenly split between these two bands. Seemed like the big competition was here tonight. Class AAAAA 1) James Bowie (only band) - High Brass, WW, Percussion, Auxiliary, Drum Majors Exhibition Fredericksburg HS Not a big show, but results none the less. I may be spoiled from BOA, but I wish that the Drum Majors from other bands would at least learn to wait until all the results are announced to leave. Watching from backfield, when they finished announcing 4A results, one of the band's drum majors just started walking off waving their trophy up and down, with 5A's results (Bowie) still to be announced..... Some really nice people out there. Before they announed Bowie's results, the announcer said something to the effect of "we are really lucky to have such an incredible band here like Bowie HS, thank you for coming out here!" It was neat to know that we were appreciated. Warm-Up was pretty neat, probably the only competition where we've gotten a fully marked off football field to do fundamentals on. I felt bad for some of the other bands that were performing though because you could hear the bands (read: drumlines) warming up in the lot. Fredericksburg's exhibition was fun...superhero music, and the drum majors were dressed up as Batman, Batwoman, Catwoman, and Superwoman. Surprisingly large drumline (we were near them at warmup) of 7s/4t/5b. Great job to all the bands there tonight. EDIT: Remembered the winner of 4A Quote
