Who do you think will be the top bands and why?

[Bell Band Director]

I look for Arlington Martin to win this one by a fairly large margin, I had the opportunity to see them at UTA (which they won by a 5 point margin) with Fossil Ridge being the closest band to them and since. Their show is the Phantom Regiment show from 03' (Harmonic Journey), which ironicaly they had arranged by the staff arranger for Phantom (I guess it dosen't hurt that they have a member from Phantom on their staff). The directors have the band motivated and playing at a level that I have not ever heard from them. Unfortunatly they aren't comming to the BOA regional at UTA because I believe that they would do EXTREMELY well. Look for Martin to make some major waves this year and come onto the scene in a huge way next year, they are one to watch out for.

I agree with Bell Band Director (Which director are you btw?) that Arlington Martin will take the championship at this competition. I saw them at the football game the day before the UTA competition and they do have a very nice show that is on a fairly high level for them this early in the season but it wasn't even near the level that I saw from Haltom and Richland at the HEB competition. I do think that they would make Finals at the Extremely stacked BOA Arlington, but I do not think that they would make the top 5.

 

Also look for Lake Highlands (Consistently Strong but may be hurt after Marion West's resignation), Colleyville Heritage (Up and Coming with an ex-Richland director), and Fossil Ridge (Normally strong but was hurt by Keller Central opening a few years ago) to round out the top 4.

This was a tough competition.

Two state bands made it past Martin.

birdville has a good field/stadium....we have had a rehearsal there..
