itsstephenyo
OWNED!!! Do you even know the meaning of owned? Cuz you don't show that you do. And to barisaxy08, Westfield's top band has no bari sax? Wow, that's pretty interesting.

barisaxy08
We had two section leaders(bari and bass clar.) quit during marching season. not even... the tenors and the baris all tried out for the top band and mrs rhodes put nobody in the top band at all... therefore im first chair in the school but still in the second band until next semester... everybody get it??? okay...because it's not really that serious to be tryna go back and forth on... itsstephenyo
everybody get it??? okay...because it's not really that serious to be tryna go back and forth on... Oh, I really didn't mean any offense to my question. I was just curious as to why one of the best bands in the nation didn't have a bari sax. Thank you for clearing it up. At Hebron, though, all the saxes tried out all at the same time, and the director put the five best in there and went down the line from 1st to 5th to see who got what part. Last year the fourth chair girl originally tried out on alto but had to play tenor during the concert season.
dmcolby
4th chair in 1st band (competed against 42 other flutes!)
MmCheezItsYay
?th chair, top band... we dont really have chairs...it goes like this: the people who were in it last year get the higher parts, the new people get lower parts, and it gets mixed in the middle a little. shmily1130
First chair, top band. It's cool though, because we all like each other/don't hate each other. Which is great for me, since the other two people are a year and two years older than me...
LHS'NET10
RIGHT NOW im 1st chair... but its 3rd band (last) but im moving up to 2nd at the semester
t3hZm4n
I'm in 1st band, but we don't really have chairs... If we did, I really don't know what chair I'd be, since all 3 tenor trombones in our top band are roughly equal in talent (we all made area, and we all have strengths that complement each others' weaknesses). ClaireAnnette07
It's official: I am first chair, first band for the 3rd year in a row. Yay!
MartinHorn
1st chair in second band, but I get to be in orchestra . What do you think is better, 1st in second band or 4th in 1st?
barisaxy08
1st chair in second band, but I get to be in orchestra . What do you think is better, 1st in second band or 4th in 1st? first in second band already...it would probably be more of a challenge anyways and you get looked at more than someone would if they was fourth chair in 1st band. MmCheezItsYay
well last year i was 2nd in 2nd band (had some first parts tho) and this year im like 4th/6th in top band and i like it this year better cuz the stuff we do actually is more challenging than last year and i mean, come on, its the top band... crazyjakeup
at the end of last year i was 2nd chair 2nd band. the start of this year i was 7th chair top band two days later 1st chair 2nd band. now im 6th chair 3rd band (i dint even get the solo in our xmas concert). they take auditions seriosly at my school (i dont ) . in my all district mariachi band im the principlal player, which is funny because our mariachi second chair is 1st/2nd chair region jazz and our third chair is in my schools top band, both of which are in all-region (i didnt try out, i prolly should have though)... hebrontuba08
2nd chair top band at school. 5th chair overall at region (one chair away from area! gah!) and i beat the 1st chair guy at my school for the first time (he got 6th). i think there were around 50 tubas that tried out in phase 1. crazyjakeup
yeah so at this very moment i a 1st chair fourth band (i was last chair top band) today the head band director noticed i was in the fourth band and asked me what heck i was doing in there. i told him that i had no clue. the truth is is that i got moved to second band by accedent at the beginning of the year then we had end of marching season auditions that i sight read and played "mary had a little lamb" for one of the etudes i got moved to third band 1st chair. i got bored one week and started playing every thing up an octive and so the third band director moved me to fourth band. bossman
darn kid. wats wrong wit u? I'm 1st chair second band. I like my director. some people use the excuse that they would never play under our head director, cuz they dont like her. Thats a poor excuse to not make the top band. I just didnt make the 1st band. and i dont have any excuse for it.

andissimo
I'm 4th chair in the top band, but we get new chair results tomorrow. I was 2nd chair in the 3rd region band (i dunno maybe like 25th or higher overall) out of like 200 flutes in prelims. so.... yeah not band for a sophomore.
