Nope, it's a contest I know that happens but usually never has any big time players that go to it except for maybe 1 or 2. I don't know why, but the last few years I have never really seen much advertisement about it. I do know there was one band that went last year and ended up at State last year that got 2's at the competition and was upset. Quote

I think Winnsboro has changed from their previous contest to this one Quote

Let’s see if they did any cleaning this week. Quote
TexasStrangers Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Winnsboro is on the schedule to go to Royse City at 10:45 so I guess they are packing up and going straight to Mt. Pleasant. My money would be on Atlanta other then that, there are a couple of others that are decent but not much there as far as Area Finalists go or even State. Quote

I noticed on one of the booster pages that they had changed contest and no longer going to Royce city contest. Quote

It is quite possible they did if Royse City decided to not have a Division 2 and Division 1 Finals and just throw everyone in there together. Quote
marchingband69 Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Atlanta Gilmer Hallsville Spring Hill Marshall Pittsburg New Diana Winnsboro Pine Tree Rivercrest This one is really hard to guess, might as well be a small school corps contest and a large school military contest mashed into one. A lot of really strong military bands. If I took out the military bands I'd say this: Atlanta Marshall Winnsboro Pine Tree Rivercrest Clarksville Liberty-Eylau Chisum Cooper Pewitt Quote
Trumpeter75 Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 I think Atlanta will be the resounding favorite here. Would like to see Rivercrest as they have pulled out of a contest I could have seen them. I would not be surprised to see them beat bigger band like Winnsboro depending on what their show looks like. After that not much intrigue for me. Quote
olivelover47 Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 I think top 3 will be close. I got Pine Tree or Atlanta on top though. Pine Tree's run at mineola was pretty good getting 4th and could've even been top 3. Atlanta on the other hand have been a consistent state finalist in 3A and their shows are always fairly clean. It'll be a good showing of military and open class bands. Here's a full prediction below 1/2. Pine Tree or Atlanta 3. Winnsboro 4. Spring Hill 5. Rivercrest 6. Gilmer 7. Marshall 8. Hallsville 9. Pittsburgh 10. New Diana Quote
BandConnoisseur Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Top 3 in any order: Pine Tree Atlanta Winnsboro Although, I think Pine Tree should be the favorite. A former 5A now 4A that's been to the SMC. Winnsboro had a good showing at Mineola. Haven't heard much about Atlanta. I think this might be their first contest of the year so they may still be putting things together. Quote
Kmt1 Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Many of the bands that go to this contest, do so in order to get some field time in Mt Pleasant as they always host the region. There has been some bouncing around for those that have competed already this season. This will be the first contest for many. I know this will be the first for Atlanta, as well as most all of the military bands. One day we will see a military band beat the field at this contest. There are at least four former state champions in this invitational. Best wishes to all bands, safe travels. Quote
Trumpeter75 Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 Have yet to see Atlanta with my own ear/eyes but watched their halftime show the past few weeks online. I think they still have a small portion yet to be on field, but maybe have it by this weekend. They are one of the largest 3A bands and will, I feel be the grand champion of this contest. Pine tree show had an odd band hiding behind their visual for a large amount of time while the percussion plays for the color guard. I think Rivercrest will stun several and possibly take 2nd. Not sure the military bands take down Atlanta at this point. If Rivercrest get a good final draw I see them number 2. Good luck bands. Quote

I get why some people have mixed feelings about Pine Trees' drum break at the end of their show, but I honestly think it’s a cool moment that really shows off how good the whole band is by showing off the guard and drumline. Can’t wait to see Atlantas show in person. I really think that the battle for first will be a good one and I do agree that Rivercrest could shock some people. I’ll be going to this competition with a buddy of mine to see his kid and can’t wait to see some exciting shows!! Quote
sigmaboi Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 1.Atlanta 2. ..winnsboro.. 3. pine tree 4. marshall thats what i got i cant believe this contest is starting to get recognition now :0 Quote

Marched back in the day when we did drum line features but we never really had props to go behind. We would march around field while this was going on. Just seemed odd to me personally to go behind the prop for so long but I don’t get a lot of the creative textures of bands now, lol. Quote
