I feel like I have a solid inkling as to how area c will shake down. I really have no clue about area b. I’m leaning towards the door being wide open.

Can you post the full finals results on the Godley thread?

Now that Week 2 of marching comps is done, here are the results I could find:
Blinn Buccaneer Marching Contest - No results yet, which is weird because they have the previous two years' results up.
Burkburnett Boomtown Revue Pre-UIL Marching Festival - No results yet.
HEB Marching Contest (out of 11) - Gainesville (11th in Prelims, 11th in Finals)
Mansview Preview of Champions (out of 22) - Kennedale (All I know is not top 10 and out of the 8 Class Cs, they were not top 5) and Ranchview (Swept Class A and was Finals Exhibition)
Melissa Marching Showcase (out of 25) - China Spring (16th), Krum (18th), Springtown (23rd), and Robinson (24th)
Mesquite Marching Festival (out of 5 4As) - Ferris (5th)
Plano East Marching Invitational (out of 18) - Panther Creek (5th in Finals), Richland (not sure, but not in the top 10)
USBands Saginaw Regional (out of 22) - Eagle Mountain (12th in Prelims, 11th in Finals) and Sanger (tied for 17th)
Wildcat Marching Festival - Alvarado (2nd in Prelims, 2nd in Finals), Castleberry (3rd in Prelims, 3rd in Finals), Aubrey (4th in Prelims, 4th in Finals), Brock (7th in Prelims, did not perform in Finals), Glen Rose (9th in Prelims, 7th in Finals), Venus (10th in Prelims, 8th in Finals), Benbrook (12th), Lake Worth (14th), Life School of Waxahachie (lower than 15th),  Lorena (lower than 15th), and Western Hills (lower than 15th)

Many things came from this past week! While we don't know if Ranchview beat Kennedale in Prelims, sweeping their class has got to mean good things. Maybe they'll advance to Area this year! Krum getting 18th, just two behind China Spring, and being miles above Springtown and Robinson solidifies their power (especially since they beat two other State Qualifiers, one being another State Finalist!), and China Spring getting 16th should get rid of any thoughts about them falling off after their head director left. Richland not making Finals when many thought they would might mean they're not gonna be making State this year (especially with this stacked Area), but we don't know if they're out of Area Finals yet. Eagle Mountain making it to the Saginaw Finals and beating Sanger (who had been the band just out of Area Finals last year) by multiple places is promising, and they're only in their second year as a school! Alvarado AND Castleberry both beat Aubrey in Prelims and Finals, meaning they've stepped up their games after last year's results, and that Aubrey has some work to do to catch up. Glen Rose beating Venus also means they might do better this year. I don't think they'll make Area Finals, but they'll get close!

I haven't seen the show, but beating Sanger by that much has got to mean something. Sanger has historically been a good band in Area B, making Area Finals in 2021 and placing between 11th and 15th in the three years since, so beating them by (I believe) 6 points at a competition like USBands means you guys mean business. I really hope we get to see 12 bands at Finals this year, but even if there's only 10, I think Eagle Mountain has a chance. However, there are so many bands this year that have stepped up their game, so I know those top 20 places are all going to deserve that Finals run. Gotta keep fighting and working to get better, though, or you might plateau and fall out of the ring.

With the possible addition of Richland, Area B could send 6 to state. Two more first divisions were needed to get to 6 state qualifiers I think.

Preseason Guess

1. PC

2. Gatesville

3. CS

4. Krum

5. Aubrey

6. Alvarado

7. Stephenville

8. Robinson

9. Springtown

10. Sanger/Castleberry/Brock

Alvarado beat Castleberry at 2nd and Castleberry being 3rd beating Aubrey at 4th

this past saturday at Godley

Predictions after competitions

1. China Spring

2. Panther Creek

3. Gatesville

4. Krum

5. Alvarado

6. Richland Prosper

7. Springtown

8. Castleberry

9. Robinson

10. Aubrey

I'm gonna be honest, I'm not too sure about Gatesville right now. Krum swept them at BOA and then went on to Melissa and did pretty well there, too. Gatesville might be pulling a Pecos, where they made State in 2021, then got a 2 at Region the following year. I'm not saying Gatesville's gonna get a 2, but they might be just out of State, or barely make it. Making State Finals might've gotten to them, but I hope they prove me wrong. I will say the top-half/bottom-half system definitely screwed bands over last year, and I'm sure it'll do it again this year. Then there's Eagle Mountain, which blew Sanger (who got 11th last year) out of the water in Saginaw.

While I still think Gatesville's a contender for State, I'm seeing them more in 5th place. It's still WAY too early to be predicting, but as of now I'm thinking:

1. Panther Creek

2. China Spring

3. Krum

4. Eagle Mountain

5. Gatesville

And then anyone can come in next. Alvarado, Aubrey, Castleberry, Richland, Robinson, Springtown, and other bands, such as Sanger, Brock, Godley, Kennedale, Lake Dallas, Southwest, and Venus.

Alvarado, Castleberry, Ferris, and Venus were at the Wildcat Marching Festival this weekend, with Alvarado and Castleberry at 2nd and 3rd respectively, outplacing Aubrey at 4th.

Right, these are the contests for this Saturday, not last. Those four bands have no contests on their schedules this week, but Aubrey has their own invitational.

Those results are still wild to me though, can't believe the contest turned out like that

i unfortunately have to agree with gatesville, although i wanna say that maybe krum swept because they had more content on the field than gatesville, i feel like im wrong but its something to put out there

Last year, Commerce Beat Whitesboro at BOA Prosper, and look what ended up happening in the end.

Krum performed their entire show while Gatesville performed half of it.

gatesville performed 3 out of the 4 movements they had, so maybe if gatesville has a good part 4 and performs it well, gatesville may be back in the top ranks
