Clement’s show this year is also sort of based of off tech/ai:

Theme’s Paranoid Android, featuring excerpts from Paranoid Android by Radiohead and the Miraculous Mandarin by Bartok

This is the show we are presenting for the 2025 Maverick band called "Kinetic". This piece features music from:

David Maslanka

Sara Bareilles

John Adams.

The music that they let us hear was a rough draft of what they are basing it from then plan to tweak something that they told us they'll add is a brass double tounging feature. I am extremely excited where we can take this piece(hopefully state for the first time in district history).

This actually seems like a really cool concept and could go places potentially even state if executed properly and cleaned well enough (and Pasadena Memorial has been getting a lot better at cleaning over the past years) so I’m really excited for this along with the other shows posted on the forum (especially Dawson’s it looks REALLY interesting)

All of the concepts from this area so far are amazing, but i’m very curious to see where PM will go. Despite the competition for that/those last state spots, I will be cheering y’all on! 😄

All the shows this year seem interesting for sure, I can’t wait to see what Pearland puts on the field, maybe Dawson can dethrone them as area champion considering how close they got to it at area last year

I feel like next season’s gonna be even more unpredictable than this past season, but that’s probably just me 😝

I’m gonna go bold on this one and say that at the state level, Hebron and Vandegrift get dethroned as the 1-2 spots this year. I could especially see this happening if they’re getting anywhere near the same amount of new members as my school is this year. We had our first spring camp with everyone and I think the freshmen are trying their best, it’s really just finishing learning how to march and learning the music.

Also, my band directors keep saying that our participation fees are one of the lowest in the state, and the lowest at the state marching contest, our fee is $350 just for participation, what are yalls?

Our marching camp was about two weeks ago and our music preview camp is next week. I have a great feeling about this year tho. Of course, I can’t truly give an accurate account on playing ability yet (because A. We don’t know what the freshmen sound like yet and B. I won’t be playing but on a 6-8 ft ladder conducting). Here’s what I’m gonna say though: the music book is easier for the instruments but it’s definitely better than last year’s. If y’all watched our show reveal video, y’all know that we play Fur Elise (and before y’all come at me, no, it’s not corny and there’s another side to that part of the show. Hence our show being called On the Flipside). Nevertheless, I’ve never genuinely been so excited about a marching show before. We want to be great to make this show great, and I have a lot of hope and determination to make this show just as phenomenal as it seems. :)

You think y’all’s fee is low? Our minimum is 200$ but we’re offering a range of prices for participants.

Yeah, every year our music gets better and harder. We’re playing the finale from carnival of the animals and noisy wheels of joy, which are very woodwind heavy pieces.

Dang, that’s crazy. And we’re getting custom uniforms again this year and those are $110. Everyone has to pay the participation fee and uniform fee but the band can do financing to help pay for it

Oooh woodwind heavy, I see!!! 😄😃 that gets me excited! 😆 Our opener (which is a combo of Fur Elise and Beethoven’s Symphony No 7 Movement 2) has a lot more woodwind presence than brass, even though the brass sounds just as musical.

That’s pretty similar to how we do things over here :)
