They are pretty rough this year I think. Their concert progams are very good but the marching band has always been struggling to keep up. Some schools are just like that I guess.

Pearland takes it again this year.

Concert programs, as in honor band 6a state champions. Their marching band is rapidly catching up to Pearland, being 1 point off at area last year. Do you happen to be a Pearland member by chance?

Do you happen to be a Pearland member or just don't like Dawson for whatever reason by chance? Pearland and Dawson being high school and band rivals shouldn't promote your passive-aggressive insults and disrespect on others hard work.

I like Dawson’s band department, The concert program is outstanding, the marching band is still good. I have nothing against them.

No I am not from Pearland. I just see why Pearland has consistently been doing well recently, it’s the design.

That's fair and I respect your opinion, my take on this is that Dawson's marching program has been rising in performance and has been consistently making state, so I my take/prediction is Dawson and Pearland will be neck and neck this year.

I'm not from pearland but their opener is crazy like a bunch of just loud stabs over and over again. Def a different vibe compared to last year

I will say, it is so much harder and fun to march but if executed well it has so much potential

We also have a few bands from this area going to BOA North Houston this Saturday. This'll be a good chance to see how well they stack up against the other bands there. We'll also get an early read on how well they are doing competitively in relation to eachother.

Dickinson-9:24AM
Shadow Creek-10:00AM
Clear Brook-1:12PM
Churchill Fulshear-1:48PM

A lot of them will also be at the Alvin Matching Contest but some of the will be exhibition only. Fulshear is marching both comps

Do you know what competition's finals they will participate in? They seem to have a good shot at taking gold at Alvin and making finals for North Houston.

Watched Shadow Creek and Dawson.

Once again no hate towards Dawson but I still am less than impressed, so much dirt.
Shadow Creek however, surprised me. They had a great show and i’m looking forward to their run at BOA Conroe tomorrow. This might be the first year they sneak into the top 12!

I think last year they performed two comps two. I think they perform where they scored highest. I’m not sure tho

Honestly, I see where you're coming from. I saw the livestream of dawson and shadow creek. I thought that Dawson's show design was great. Their music sounds very good and they have a lot of hard things in their show. However, visual they are pretty dirty. Lots of out of time feet and visuals. But you do have to give them credit for the difficulty of their show. They have a lot of very large forms that cover the field as well as a lot of circles in their drill, which are notoriously hard to clean. I think that they'll be able to clean this up as the season goes on. I bet that they're just trying to get as much of their show on the field right now for the upcoming competitions. Looking at Shadow Creek though, they're looking and sounding pretty good. I bet that we might see them at Area finals.

most bands that do this and spend almost all their comp season clean clean cleaning it ends up making their show REALLY good towards end season, at least from what i’ve noticed. even if dawson is lacking a bit right now, they’ve added a lot and are clean for how much they’ve added. i’m CONFIDENT they’ll be in state this year

Sorry I mean to put Shadow Creek in that second to last sentence lol. Honestly I'm sure Dawson could take a strong 2nd at Area like last year. Shadow Creek is also looking like they could get in the bottom half of finals.

If Pasadena Memorial were to go to BOA Conroe tomorrow, they would be in Finals. Good design.

i know this has been said multiple years before, but if they can clean and add a couple more visuals throughout their show, they could genuinely break into state this year with the pace theyre going at right now
