well those results were not quite what I was expecting. But I think that kinda sums up Area E.

Congratulations to all the preformers today.

Every one of you overcame adversity though logistics with the reschedule, missing school, potential bus issues; but everyone still came with their fighting faces and made it a very great and memorable night for all.

I hope everyone is proud to either continue their show and hopefully get 1 or 2 more runs, or reflect and be very happy with the memories you have made this year

Clements making state in a notoriously hard area after getting a 1-1-2 at region is probably the most compelling story of the season. Way to go!

Did Lake have a bad run?  That seems like a substantial drop from prelims for them.

I mean I have not yet seen finals recaps. but as far as prelims recaps and finals placements go, a lot of them were quite different.

The run looked clean to me.  I’m not sure how they dropped from 6 to 10.

There was a three way tie for fourth in Area E only four years ago.  UIL has rules for how to break the tie and the winner of the tie breaker got the fourth state spot (we only sent four that year).  It was pretty awful for the other two bands.  ☹️

Definitely - everyone felt terrible for them.  But it has definitely happened before, and UIL definitely has rules for that (I don’t *think* those have changed, although they have changed/added a rule about being Area Champion in the last few years).

Check UIL area I 2021, three way tie (for FIRST PLACE!) between Bridgeland, Cy-Woods, and Seven Lakes. Bridgeland won the tie breaker to earn what I believe was their first area championship.
