I feel with this new judging system we’ll definitely see a lot of unexpected results in area prelims and finals just imo.

What are your thoughts on Foster, or did you forget to include it?

So many amazing shows this year! After attending Alvin ISD's invitational and the FBISD Band Night (and watching what few performances I could find), I know this area will be super competitive

Question; is it possible for 6 bands to advance to State this year? I remember last year there was some talk about that; would that mean we would have a 12-band finals?

If 30 or more bands attend Area, then yes, there will be 6 State spots and 12 finalist 

If I counted correctly, there are 30 6A bands in this Area, so if one doesn’t qualify for area, only 5 bands will advance to state

it is possible, but it’s VERY dependent on one band that never makes area: Hightower. they are notorious for having sub-par shows and being the reason that most years 5 bands advance and not 6.

Honestly that is what needs to happen, would make finals a lot more interesting

The South Houston BOA should help give a better idea cause a lot of the bands from this area are gonna be there.

Wow finally a good show angle for Clear Brook. Comments for these bands Clear Brook is just phenomenal. I love the idea of the whistles, the cleanliness of the drill, choero, music and the colorguard choice of wigs and outfit lol. Deer Park on the other hand is probably having their best show production I’ve ever seen from them in the last couple of years. I feel like there’s some trouble with visual timing and choero, but they’re probably working on that. But two great performances!

You missed USbands but gosh WTF is happening 

Elkins genuinely might be goated with that 13th, did Clear Brook explode or something?? Also Foster is taking a lead on these state bands. Clear Lake is locked in locked in. And PM 6th at USBands is insane.

It needs to be Area already I can’t predict these results anymore. At this rate Dawson is gonna win the area or something

i genuinely cant tell what is going to happen this year, so many results are being skewed to a degree i literally wouldnt be able to predict whatsoever. at least my prediction about dawson has potential to come true, but other than that i genuinely couldnt even begin to make a prediction about what finals is going to look like

You have to take all these results with a grain of salt because most non-UIL contests have a lot of points come from GE, which won’t be scored at area.

the south houston boa performances will probably give a better idea of what will happen in the area e bloodbath this year, but it’s still honestly such a tossup that the only thing we can do is wait

pearland doing their thing winning the regional, but dawson shooting up 6 places from last year, coming within 0.1 of CTJ, and tying woods for a music effect win was pretty crazy, they’ll definitely make some waves at area this year

brook making 18th was definitely surprising

foster with a strong showing winning AAA in prelims might make them a challenger for state this year, beating both dickinson and SFA who were in the top five last year

and not to mention congratulations to clear lake for making boa finals, they are definitely in state talks

Looking at the boa results the crazier I feel this area will be. I do wonder why Clements decided not to go to boa this year as I feel as if they would've made finals and maybe give us a better look at how they match up against the top bands in this area.

I was really surprised with shadow creeks recent performance. Shooting up a whole 5 points and beating clear brook is no easy task. I was genuinely impressed by how much they improved within one week. Really excited to see what they can do at Area this year.
