Dawson probably will miss state with this show. A lot dirtier then they have come out before.

I have heard it is an "off year" for them.

maybe its just me but putting memorial and foster THAT high are a little outrageous to me, i think pm could maybe work their way up there but i wouldnt put them there JUST yet. it's also missing dickinson which definitely deserves to be up there.

Nah you aren’t the only one who thinks that. I love my band but putting us and PM that high is insane. Dickinson needs to be up there, Dawson is winning Area and maybe PM or Clear Lake could make state dependent on how many bands are going to Area. That’s all I have to say.

Just saw a video of dickinson. Their music is sounding very good this year as well as their visual package. They've definitely ramped it back up, and I'm guessing they could probably jump back up to 3rd maybe 2nd by area.

i think memorial performed at this game too i believe? i saw the video which they posted and it seems they finally have full uniforms and no shadows, they actually seem to REALLY be stepping up their game! this makes me really interested to see what they have for a little later on this season

oh yeah i saw dawson's about a week back as well so i DEFINITELY know exactly what you mean, i could absolutely see them passing pearland this year area (although i haven't yet seen pearland's show)

They are pretty rough this year I think. Their concert progams are very good but the marching band has always been struggling to keep up. Some schools are just like that I guess.

i feel like Dawson’s show is the most effective  that it’s been in a long time and they have a legitimate shot at beating Pearland, especially with how Dawson won music at area last year. the visual package overall is just way better for DHS this year and i’m not sure what performance you watched outside of Dawson’s first football game where it was dirtier than years past

To be fair, Pearland had a really dirty run in finals with the part 1 tpt feature completely splitting tempo and the 3rd tpt sticking out at the last chord.

I think y'all will be surprised when they are in the bottom half of finals. No hate to them, but the show just isn't working.

Well see how they do by area. We're still early in the season with most bands barely getting their ballad on the field without the met, much less thier closer. Honestly it's too early to say who will beat who. Things will change. Bands will get cleaner, props will be added, choreo and music will be added and some will get cut. But given their track record, It'd be safe to say that they'll be in the top 4 along side Clear Brook, Dickinson, and Pearland. In the though it will be the judges who will decide that order. From what I've seen, I think Pearland will take 1st like they always have, and the rest of the state spots will be fought for tooth and nail. With the recent change in the judging we can only guess what the results will be.

Not even in this area but WOW Dawson's show.... really sick stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if they upset Pearland but we'll have to see
