Yeah in the Company of Crows sounds like exactly what I thought. Would be a missed opportunity if they didn’t use blackbird or the firebird suite!

Swan songs won’t be as dark as it may seem it’ll be fun I’m very excited to see it

1 Bridgeland-they honestly won’t be slowing down for awhile I wanna see where they place in state and if they can crack the top 8

2-4 seven lakes- it was very surprising to see them make state finals after placing fourth at area I hopethey’ll use that momentum to once again reach state finals

2-5 cy woods- i honestly expected them to make state finals after barely losing the area championship and their show was amazing this year I think they will maintain there relative state spot with an outside chance at state finals

2-6 cy fair- this is the first year where I genuinely think cy fair has a chance at not making state although unlikely they took a step back last year and others around them didn’t

4-7 Jet- I still have no clue who to put in this fifth state spot as anything could happen I have about four bands who could take this spot only time will tell what happens I only put jet here as they have been the most consistent in there placing

4-9 Langham creek- HOT TAKE I got it right with Langham last year tying for eight with Tompkins. I’ve heard there show from a friend and man it’s a huge step of from last year if they can continue to be the uil oriented band they are they can easily climb the ranks many people don’t have any hope or praise for this group and it’s sad to see especially with the greatness they once had I saw there percs indoor show and that should help since they were a weakness overall last year with there school population growing they’ll have a higher talent pool to choose from and hopefully surprise us all

4-8 Jordan- Last year at one point Jordan was a lock for state to me but come area it did not come to fruition could it be a case of bad judging maybe but that surely took most if not all the momentum they had building I hope they come back strong this year and fight for a state spot(yes I am stirring up a rivalry with them and Langham as the head directors daughter for Jordan works at Langham)

4-9 cinco ranch- i absolutely loved there show last year it was creative and really suited there band it wasn’t the cleanest show and I think that and losing the fifth state spot really hurt them I have them also fighting for state once again and trying to take back that spot again

7-11 Tompkins- Tompkins took a step back from there stage year and it showed they aren’t the band they once were they have the capabilities to bounce back so I don’t think they’ll miss finals but states gonna be hard

8-11 cy ranch- cy ranch last year seemed to platue beating Langham at boa then losing to them at area I don’t have much to say about them but I think they have a strong chance at finals once again

9-12 Katy- they also seemed to take a step back swapping with many groups week to week they were very inconsistent but they have the resources possible to rebound

bubble band ( Katy paetow jersey village )

Please dissect my lists and feel free to make your own so we can make this the most active forum on txbands

If cinco wants to go to state, they need to have clean drill. With clean drill, I think they could easily beat out JET and maybe Jordan

Jersey Village has a good program, but some of their shows haven’t been competitive enough to beat out groups like Cy Ranch or Katy.

I definitely agree that Langham will continue to build off of their success last year, but I just don’t see them in contention for a state spot, or at least not as likely as the likes of Cinco Ranch, JET, Jordan and Tompkins. I would love to be proven wrong though, their show last year was awesome!

What’s up band nerds, it’s been a few months. Langham is very unlikely to make state this year. It’s a slow process to climb to the top. While they get better, other rising bands must get worse, or at least worse than LCHS. Won’t happen overnight.

Bridgeland is losing Mr Willie, their visual director. I can’t overstate his contribution to the program. In Grand Nats prelims last year Bridgeland placed ahead of Avon and Broken Arrow (iirc), in large part thanks to his contributions. A tough hole to fill.

Will be a fun year.

Yeah it’s why I currently have them out I like my ranges wide because I don’t like ruling out anything for any band
