4. Cy-Woods: Brought things back after a dissapointing 2023, Woods has always had potential and I think they've unlocked it. It just turns out 7L did at the exact same time

I agree. Cy Woods has found their niche and who they are as a program and is continuing to build on it. I believe for 2023, design (mostly visual design) and visual clarity were factors that really held them back, but they’ve made minor adjustments to their design team recently. They’ve revealed their show this year (privately), and the concept and musical selection sounds very intriguing. I’m excited to see how they build off last year. They definitely have a bright future ahead!

10. Jordan

Putting Jordan below Langham is a bit disrespectful. They are consistent area finalists and have always been finishing above the other bands, including beating 7L  at Katy marching fest. They are a younger band only been around for 5 years. I know they have quite a good band and will keep buliding.

hot take but I was not really a big fan of their show last year came out the gate strong and couldn't finish the season

They did get cooked in the area comp by getting a 20 in brass by one judge, which was completely undeserved. From what I have heard, I know they are going quite a different route with show design this year. Their show name is Heads Will Roll, and it's quite a cool concept.

this is kinda unrelated but does anybody else think its kinda crazy that this area by itself had 7 more replies than the entire 6a state competition forum last year

anyone got prediction on where katy or the bubble bands would place/or could place this season

Honestly depends. Peatow had a good last year, but Katy has had a bad past couple of years, and Langham is on the rise. Hard to say till we know more about the shows.

All good! Didn't mean for it to sound like that. LOL. Rereading it now, and I see your point. all I  was trying to say is Jordan is higher up in my thoughts than you put them.

I really like this prediction but I think Tompkins also has a shot at getting that 5th spot and I think Katy or Langham or even Paetow could also get that 10th spot. The way I see it top 4 should basically be locks though unless the looney tunes portal opens out of the field like someone said earlier (Or it rains again 🫤 )

sounds interesting... Any more you can tell us?

supposed to be how the past thought the future would be, should be very slow and not as loud and exciting as the past two years but should be better

The couple of questions I have heard are

Is Katy going to make the finals?

What will the bubble bands make happen?

Is Cinco going to build on what they did last year?

Is 7L going to maintain last year's standard?

How will legacy affect the Katy bands?

ANOTHER QUESTION, Are we getting 6 states spots/12 finalists??!? there around 31 bands in this area so we can’t afford to lose one band

ik it like a very low chance, but it possible

Here personally is who I feel each band is capable of competing against

S tier

Bridgeland woods Cy-fair seven lakes

A tier

Jordan Cinco Jet Tompkins Langham Ranch

B tier

Katy paetow springs parks

I agree with this, but I’d also like to make sure we don’t forget about Jersey Village, thought they had improved a bit from the 2023 mishap.
Though 12 bands to finals. I’m WAITING to see this. It’s TIME the bubble bands get in!!!
