yeah that's the only part that I don't get, is that if he's injured, how come he marches through the cymbals at the end. And if I remember correctly, he was marching quickly on his way to the cymbal V.

Although injured, he's not healthy enough to march in the actual show due to the demand.

Southwind is a Div 1 corps. The only corps to attend SA that was not a Div 1 corps is the Div 3 corps named Revolution. This was their home show.

So since Pioneer Esperanza and the Seattle Cascades were all beaten by a Division III corps, does that make Revolution really good, or does it mean that P, E, and SC shouldn't be Division I corps?

Division II/III corps are judged on different judging sheets than Division I corps. Can't compare the scores.

The Div 1 corps were not beaten by Revolution. Revolution is in a different Div. Its like comparing apples to oranges. They are both fruits yet completely different taste. Revolutions is a very good Div 3 corps--they won the Div 3 championship a few years back.

And to Disappearer221 about the amplification of the pit:

While I understand the point, why should they be amped? I understand that a voice should be amped (i.e. Cadets singer or Crown's narration) for the lack of being heard. But why should Xylophones and Marimbas be amped--should a soprano soloist be amped so that they are heard? Most people would probably (and I am assuming) would say not. But I am a brass player, so I probably dont fully understand the amped pit thing. I would rather just hear a balance of pit, drumline, and hornline--thats all.

Just some food for thought...

Because a marimba/xylo does not naturally project the same amount of sound as a solo trumpet. It's not complicated.

I really didnt have a good experience this year at SA as far as finals goes. Sitting on the 40 3 rows up was nice though.

Lunch sure was great though tongue.gif

Oh man....

Now that I look back on it....that was absolutely hilarious. But hey, we had drum corps to attend!! Good thing we all left before the rain as well.

well if they're all graded on the same scale and difficulty, then even a top division three corps shouldn't be placing higher than some divi 1 corps...
