G'townPIT Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Sweet Jesus, that was an awesome show, not to mention THEY OUTSCORED THE BLUE DEVILS! That was the sickest drum break, everybody's been saying the cavies drumline isn't as strong this year, but they definitley played well tonight. Quote
Claritone Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Oh man I couldn't have been more satisfied with those scores. Cavies take the lead and phantom moves into third!!! Quote
Claritone Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Our percussion director is the fourth one on the right. (In your signature) Quote
Xukaniz Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 His hatly is slightly farther down than the other snares, foreshame hehe. Quote

Thankfully i have trained my mom to appreciate good music. She liked Phantom and bluecoats the best. though i will say their drill is freaking amazing. anyone else notice the part in the closer that sounded EXACTLY like spin cycle? Quote
mbui Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Oh man, I went nuts during the Cavaliers show. Especially the "skipping the record" trumpet feature...the Alamodome crowd ate it up! A much deserved win for the Cavaliers. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 My mom liked Phantom Regiment the most. But I gotta admit, the Cavies were my favorite. Quote
Claritone Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Cavies were the first corps I was ever exposed to, and I'm always gonne be a fan. I'm not just jumping on because of their success. Quote

bluebellbrass07 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Our band directors gave us a DVD my sophmore year with BD 97, SCV 98, and Cavies 02 on it. I ended up liking SCV the best and I've been a fan since. Quote
Aegis Fang Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I had no idea what DCI was until I found the Cavaliers 1995 show when I was looking for recordings of the planets... but that doesn't mean I love them to death... Quote

artishard Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 i don't even know how i came across dci in 8th grade, all i remember was that the first show i ever saw was cavies 02, and then cavies 95...i didn't even know about how well they did in 02, i didn't even know anything about marching band, really...i just liked it for some reason Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Why I am a Cavaliers fan: When I was a sophomore, my lessons teacher let me borrow his tape of the 2001 World Championships. During the Cavalier's show, the camera focuses on the pit for a moment and all of the board players had the exact same mallet height. After witnessing such pit perfection, how could I not love them? It may not have been my first exposure to drum corps (band director showed a couple of tapes before holiday break), but it's still one of my most memorable. Quote
