Basically you give it the name of an artist you like. It takes that information and digs through its database for a song that is representative of the sound of that artist and starts playing it. Then, based on the particular musical qualities of that song, it will dig out other songs, often from artists you've never heard of or that are 20 years old, with musical qualities that are similar to what you like. You can thumbs-up or thumbs-down a song as it's playing, which will either increase the chance that similar songs will play in the future, or stop the song from ever playing again and decrease the chance that similar songs will get played. So as you listen and rate up/down songs you build a custom streaming radio station tailored to your musical tastes.

I've only been using it for a couple hours, but it's pretty sweet so far.

If you look at their FAQ they admit that they don't really have any Classical right now since they don't have the right kinds of Qualities defined to be able to differentiate between the pieces.

I started with Pink Floyd and have been getting some awesome songs from bands I'd never heard of before.
