bariphonium Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 As said in the title, I'm gonna be hitting the college books come May, and although I thoroughly enjoy playing the euphonium, my school owns the instrument I use. Is there anyone who knows where I might find a nice Yamaha euphonium? Willsons and Bessons are a bit above my budget... Quote
euro_euph06 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I am in the same quandry you are. I have discussed some possibilities with my lesson teacher. Here is what I plan to do: To practice over the summer, I plan to borrow (or rent if necessary) a Euphonium to practice for the band placement audition for UH (or UT---haven't decided yet). During the summer, I also plan on working. When the semester starts next fall, I plan on taking a portion of my summer earnings and making a down payment (since I also have to pay tuition) on a Willson (or maybe a nice Yamaha). Then, depending on my financial situation, I will either make payments every month from my job or take out a student loan that can be paid after I graduate college. That is what I am doing. I hope it helped. Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 a sad story indeed. maybe....the yamaha website? other than music stores try pawn shops, you would be surprised at the number of good instruments some of them have. Quote
Aegis Fang Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 oh btw if you're looking for good money, subway usually pays 8 bucks an hour, and they've got the best food anywhere Quote
