Well, predictions are online now. I'm curious to see what everyone else puts.

It happens pretty often, actually. Last year in 4A all 4 bands from area D were in state finals, taking 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 9th.

I feel like you can say that for every band that performed in Denton, however. The weather really brought down the overall quality of performance, and just as Berkner has unquestionably improved over that time frame, so has everyone else.

Or, more accurately, you don't hear anything about them all season long until the end, where the work they've made throughout the season is shown in full. They didn't compete in many competitions, but they have clean drill and good music. Like I said, they just fly under the radar until the end of the season every year.

And deservedly so. And I'm sorry that you feel like you got screwed. But using past competitions as reasons for why you SHOULD have had a few people in the stands say you're a good band on a different day is a poor reason to cry foul, and it isn't going to help the reality that this isn't what they said. It really does suck that you missed the finals and the ability to contend at state. But there's no sense in being upset over an event you have no control over. Don't let others dictate YOUR satisfaction. In the end, you're not performing for the judges. You're performing for yourselves and the audience. Did the audience love your show? Great. Bring it at BOA SA. I personally believe y'all will do fantastic. Your season isn't over yet.

Interestingly, this reminds me of Vandegrift at the same competition 2 years ago. Relatively obscure band coming out and producing a high ranking at a big competition. I'm finding it difficult to convince myself that they'll grow enough through October to prove themselves in SA. I'd love to be wrong, though.

While I don't have access to score recaps and such, the band's weekly announcement on their website, from the director himself, said that the band was 5 points (no typo) ahead of 2nd. Now I REALLY want to see recaps.

Also, that is a close separation between TW and CP for the music caption. I honestly didn't expect it to be that close between the two. It also comes across as odd that merely a week ago at Denton, CP dominated individual music, but they didn't do as hot in individual music at Conroe.
