Dripping was behind Clements in prelims by a tenth of a point... and then they turned around and had a great finals performance that ended the night. I applaud all bands marching but I would like to mention how great the competition was to watch, and how exciting.

and this is partially what gives me this vibe.

I saw their drum major run across the field, throw down the trophy and go into a "that's what I'm talking about pose" I understand that they won state, but I'm just saying as a specator they seemed a bit overboard. And I still applaud Hendrickson for being classy to Dripping Springs.

Congrats to all bands that competed, you really entertained me. As a spectator, I was a bit dissapointed with some of the sportsmanship. I stood and watched as Poteet parents, the supposed mature folks, booed the fact that Poteet made third. The Dripping Springs excitement was also a little bit over the top (I know they were excited but to me it came off as arrogance). I hear that Hendrickson cheered for Dripping Springs as they got off the bus, and this made me very happy because I am certainly aware that it was hard for Hendrickson to accept. I didn't mean for this to be offensive in any way.

Hendrickson and Dripping Springs have very strong shows this year, I expect to see them in State finals. Area D won't be AS strong as it was 2 years ago, but I wouldn't completley forget about Hays and LBJ.
