Welcome to the second, bi-weekly, TxBands Musical Talent Competition!!! Here are the requirements for this weeks entrys. yes u can write by hand and scan if you woudl like --------- ive chosen that it will be 2 seperate categories (you can enter in both) ---- will it be appropriate if i enter a music piece? ...i mean i dont do the juding the public does.. ( i want some outside opinions)

thats what im thinking...but theres prolly not gonna be enough drill writers to make a seperate catagory...maybe..io and pablo..but thats all i can think of

im the section leader for my bass clarinet section we march 6 bass clarinets (with neck straps - necessary for carry position) i dont fully agree with danpod on sound being lost.. you cant really hear us..but u can hear the color... u could hear us last year in the clarinet choir ( i marched bass and then played contra for the clarinet choir - we ended up cutting it right before finals SA though..cause the horn started sounding like trash after being on the pit truck and ..who the heck knows what happened to it in the hand of drummers

CONGRATS SNAREGUY YOU WON! pm dynasty for your prize of a custom user title. next competition will start soon (within the week) stay tuned im thinking that next week..we have freeform once again for music as well as drill ..i know comparison for judging will be harder, but i beleive ppl should vote on the one they like the best / the one with the most work put into it

i actually enjoyed all three peices. i liked the two techno-like peices cause..well i just like techno..and i liked ryans cause it was the closes to a traditional band peice

i guess ppl vote for what they think sounds "coolest."

thanks for the suggestion. yes, you can vote for yourself ( i would ) also...the FL studios..is it a whole music writing program, or something that turns music written on say...finale into having real good midi samples

well nothing can be as bad as teh tenor shirts this year they are pink, in the front REALLY small it says tenor and then on the back really big it says "we dont finger, we dont blow, we just BANG BANG BANG"

well we had AP open house 2 nights ago, and the best presentation wins something so we spent a class period recording little snippits and making it into a movie im glad to say we did win best presentation (we did have a huge tv and massive speakers blasting the music ) the choir wasnt so fond of our music covering them
