Well a lot of us realized that this was a tough competition and the medalists would all be neck and neck for the eagle. There’s no need to throw a fit. The graceful way to deal with this is to congratulate the (talented and valid) winner. I would’ve loved to see a flomo win, but Avon was just as deserving.
I want to clarify, that I only said that to prove a point. Some thoughts are best kept to yourself, as I have ALWAYS done until today. I apologize to any Marcus students for being used as collateral.
Calling Carmel a snooze fest, wondering if anyone applauded, and calling Avon messy and undeserving of a medal is okay though? I don't think calling Marcus a snooze fest was okay of me to do, but no one cared about not tearing down other programs until I responded to that post.
I love Texas programs, that is why I am here. Hebron and The Woodlands are 2 of my absolute favorite groups. Texas is the best state for the marching arts. I just believe there is a difference between supporting your programs and tearing down other ones. There is something specifically with the Indiana groups that brings out the worst attitude of Texans.
"Avon = messy messy (I don’t understand how this could medal let alone win)
Carmel = good but snooze fest (did the audience clap?)"
Did you read this? This is what I responded to. They also thought Marcus should medal. I said Marcus was more of a "snooze fest" than Carmel.
Notice how Carmel and Avon were singled out in the comment I responded to. Texans need to chill out. I love Texas bands more than Indiana bands but you have a very loud and arrogant minority that needs to be tamed. The delusions of grandeur and constant belittling of other programs have become very tiring to listen to.
