Another thing I would like to point is that Porter has gotten alternate to state at least 3 or 4 times if my memory serves me correctly? But last year during finals they tied with Rgc for a state spot and they were not chosen to state which I know caused many upsets in the community. One thing for sure is that they will definitely be working harder than ever this year and even my director has stated, “They will be extra hungry this year for that state spot😂” so they will definitely be pushing this year.

You may be right and although I don’t know too much about 5a, I can already see a lot of people this upcoming season rooting for Pace and they have a very unique show with some strong musical selections. And Lopez brass smacks hard and they’ve had a long streak of making to state. However just like some bands in the valley in previous years, it could be possible chance that streak could end… But this is pretty low chance since they are usually a very consistent band and they know how to stay focused, but then again Area G can definitely cause some shockers and upsets…. So who knows what can happen this year😦

Yeah I agree that Harlingen will most likely make finals since the last time they did in 2022. I also personally think maybe PSJA or La Joya might have a chance since especially last year these two bands and Harlingen were close to making finals! Looking at last year’s area scores, PSJA needs to work more on music and somewhat visually. Harlingen actually barely beat PSJA in music but their visuals kept them back. Lastly out of these three bands I mentioned, La Joya had the lowest score in music and beat Harlingen in visuals but lower scores in music kept them from reaching finals like PSJA, so they need a lot of work but I think the potential is there for La Joya and the other two bands I mentioned. Can’t wait to see what happens this year for Area G 6a Contest on October 25!!!

My current prediction as of now 1.Roma 2.Sharyland 3.Sharyland Pioneer 4.??? 5.??? I personally think all the other bands who make it to finals this year have a chance, they just got get out of their comfort zone and push to get that fourth place or fifth place spot to make state.
