What about Harlingen and Brownsville Hanna?

Nope, seems about right. Why do the Area G bands always finish so low?

Now that State is over, any comments or observations about the Area G bands or their placement in prelims? Did anyone go to watch them live?

Most of the stuff at the beginning of this topic was either complaining about the Live Feed, a ton of back and forth discussion about usual finalists bands in each block, more useless discussion about BOA and GN that belongs in a different thread, and three pages of wasted time about recaps. Very little discussion about other performing bands. Just trying to get a discussion going that is inclusive about everyone, instead of just 5 or 6 schools. There were several very entertaining and well performed shows from schools that never receive any mention.

I am absolutely blown away by all of the bands at the State contest! These discussions tend to only revolve around just the top bands at the contest. What about the mid-pack bands? What about the bands that are just happy to make the show? Can someone give a critique (strengths & weaknesses) of all 42 bands? All of the bands worked hard to entertain the crowd!

Good luck to the Area G bands that will represent South Texas at State! I'll be there cheering you on! One of the Region 28 bands is still being a sore loser. Hateful, spiteful comments. It's sad. There's still a lot of chatter and disbelief about the results of Finals - I guess it's who you know. Any predictions if any of the Area G bands will finish above 35th? I guess it's who you know. OMG, OMG! Hanna's show is ON FIRE! The soloists are amazing and the band sounds crazy good. So much energy at the end...and the crowd GOES NUTS! Can't wait for Saturday....this is gonna be a great contest!

I never said they aren't doing a great job. My only point is that people shouldn't be dismissive of other great bands that have the experience and the consistency to perform at a high level. Don't jump to conclusions if you haven't already seen all of the band's performances.

Why are people so confident Alexander will be first? Hanna has qualified for the state competition 8 straight times. Their show sounds fantastic! AND they can actually march AND march and play! There's even a TikTok video of them that's had 500K views! Also...Hanna finished AHEAD of Alexander at State last year. It's gonna be an interesting contest!
