  1. my ensemble is going. we're playing die bankelsangerlieder. it has two trumpets, a horn (me!), a trombone, and a tuba. i'm quite excited.
  2. Blue Shades- Ticheli Hounds of Spring- Alfred Reed Havendance- Holsinger The Red Machine- Peter Graham i have fond memories of playing havendance. we played it at my eighth grade concert and we usually played it perfectly but for some reason all the horns managed to frack any note above fourth space e. then again, it was eighth grade.
  3. horn domination. as it should be.

  10. for our christmas concert we're doing the glory of the yankee navy by sousa blue shades by ticheli and of course....sleigh ride. for our next concert we're playing bagatelles for band, (i think) sleep, and a pretty new one that i think is called the red machine. but i might have heard wrong. idk.
  11. i'm playing hunter's moon by gilbert vinter. it's only kinda of really amazing.
  12. ahh, samurai. this will def. be a good show! i'm already getting goosebumps.
  13. ah, area b. i love my area, but it would be nice to go to state my senior year. we got top ten last year (9th) but maybe next year....
  14. our shirt last year was 'grab life by the horn' and we had like a dodge font with a horn in the little upside down pentagon thingy. it was pretty cool. not gonna lie.
  15. i loooooove cedar park! ah, it made me giggle tremendously.
  16. i LOVED cedar park's show. it was by far my favorite of the night. i was giggling through the whole thing because that was pretty much my life in marching band form. then again maybe i just like the lower scored bands because i liked brazoswood's show too.
  17. our practice field is actually grass. but the ground is really uneven so every once in a while you find yourself going down an inch or two while marching.
  18. that is where they got the inspiration. according to one of our dms. we wanted the music too but it's too slow to single march and too fast to double march.
  19. that song is amazing! i played it in 8th grade. even on 4th horn it was fun.
  20. it's more fun to tell people it's spit though. especially when it comes out as a miniature waterfall.
  21. that's not true about the parents. there were some that complained, but that's not why he quit. according to the fine arts director, mr. jim mcdaniel, his resignation came as a surprise to everyone. he did it of his own free will.
  22. definitely my least favorite person right now.
  23. our band doesn't play the song but everytime the other band starts playing it we sing. it's quite fun to sit behind the trumpets and see them rowing across the stands using their trumpets as oars.
