Well, regardless, I have links to scans of the epilogue. I don't know if they're real or not, but I'm gonna hold on to them, and after I read the book, I'll go back and see if the scans were real. If so, then the book did in fact leak over one week early. If not, then I'm just gullible haha

Key word there is UK. The US publisher, Scholastic, has likely not taken quite so drastic measures. Once the books are in the retailers' storage rooms, it's anybody's guess as to what they do with them. I'm not saying I believe the spoilers 100%, I'm just saying there's a reasonable chance of them being real. Besides, with Half Blood Prince, a scan showed up early of pg. 606 (the big spoiler of the book), and nobody believed it because it was supposed to be secure. Sure enough though, it was real. Again, not saying I'm guaranteeing the leaks are real, just saying it's definitely a reasonable possibility

Actually, the book has already been shipped to retailers, so what is far more likely is that some small retailer broke street date and sold a book early (potentially to an employee or something). Also, JKR said in an interview that the past 3 books had been stolen, so... you never know.

These were actual scans of the pages though. Pretty freaking hard to fake that, even with 1337 photoshopping skills

The epilogue for the book has leaked onto the internet... may the spoilers BEGIN!!

I'm going to LMC at UT, and hoping that I'll be able to get off the waiting list for the Honors Wind Ensemble there (I signed up late! >_< ) -
Congrats!!! I'm right there with ya (except Westwood instead of Westfield). Next year's gonna rock!

I'm officially a Westwood Drum Major for the 2007-2008 school year!!!
-
I tried out yesterday, and I'll find out Monday if I got it or not!!

My audition is Friday... I'm pretty good at conducting (though I'm still suffering from a bit of a symmetry issue), but I'm still concerned about how I'm going to fit my marching skill teaching portion into the 2 minute time limit I'm allotted...

Well, I'm glad at least somebody has confidence in me haha
-
That's cuz Travis hasn't been on the boards in several months, don't worry about it Michael...
-
I'm trying out. All 3 spots are up for grabs, but there are a lot of really good candidates!!! I think I have a pretty legit shot though, if only because my announcement that I was trying out made all of the other candidates a lot more nervous. >=]

TTR: UT is out of the tournament and A&M is poised to make the Final Four for the first time. *waits for all the UT fans to shoot me*

There is no contest. Boners > Hornies

In response to Travis and a few other people's posts: OMG TROMBONES > EUPHONIUMS! STOP YOUR LIEEZZZZ!!!! </my narrow-minded, trombone-biased point of view>

I was in the 5A All-State Symphonic Band, and I must say: though definitely a little odd, our clinician was one of the most amazing conductors/musicians I've ever seen in my life. It was truly an amazing experience working with him and with so many other great musicians. I can't help but wonder though: will next year be even better? (if I make it again) -

Nope, Austin and Danny both graduated this past year, and now me (Zach Martin, junior) and Nick Dechant (sophomore) both made state (1st and 3rd chair at Area, respectively) and are ready to take their place at Westwood. I doubt we'll become as well-known as those two though, but we still have time to try. As far as the rest of our section goes: The other honors Trombone (senior) made Area, but was a ways off from state (he's arguably better than Nick and me, he just didn't practice cuz he said he didn't want to have to practice ever again in HS band). We also had 2 freshmen in our 2nd band make 10th and 11th at region. -

Haha no, I'm not John (Austin) Pierce, I'm one of his two successors.
