I see a lot of 5A bands who traditionally are at state will be participating at SA BOA right before the State Competition. Do you think this is good or bad for bands? Will they be overstretched competing in back to back competitions of this level? I don't see this as a good thing, especially for State competition bands as they will have to be on their highest performance levels for multiple days. It's hard enough to do one major competition but 2???

Poteet went to DFW BOA but their view point is not to be successful at BOA. Its to be successful at State. They use BOA as a gauge on how they are doing at that point in the season. Also, DFW BOA is on the same date as the Mesquite Marching Festival and they have to play there too.

A total of 28 bands qualified. 5 for sure are not coming, Nacodoches , Lufkin, Ennis, Jacksonville, Hallsville, My predictions for advancing to state: 1. Poteet 2. Forney 3. HIghland Park 4. Red Oak? 5. North Forney? Spoilers may be Lindale or Royce City. The Colony is not in Area C.
