  1. our winter concert? lets see... we played the first four movements of enigma, which you should look up. its pretty cool, and one of our uil pieces

and then, we played magnum mysterium (which is a slow piece) and played sleigh ride, my favorite christmas piece ever! :)

    what about you?

We played The Glory of the Yankee Navy by Sousa, Blue Shades by Frank Ticheli, Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson, and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas (a skit seniors put on with narration and band music, tradition) :]

For UIL, we are playing Red Machine (forgot composer but it's a brand new piece), Circus Band (don't know composer and it's our march), and I forgot the other one. Sorry. I'm also in the full orchestra and we have the second best full orchestra in the state from 2006-2007 year! (We would have gotten 1st if one judged had ranked us one higher...)

  2. hey, i just watched the 2006 show, and i really liked it. the music, the drill was all really cool, and i especially like the brass ensemble. i really liked that a lot!

Well, we did amazing at contests until BOA SA (didn't do Arlington because of homecoming on the same night) but then SA came and it wasn't so good. Oh well. And yeah the '06 show was my favorite of the two so far that I've been in. It was probably the most complex drill anyone saw in our area except for L.D. Bell from that year. What did y'all play for the winter concert? Do you know about UIL?

  3. thanks! it was so much fun, since it was so different from what we normally do

whenever i see a smiley face, i think of our show ^_^

wat was ur show from this year? is it on youtube or anything?

It was the "marionette show" as everyone referred to it as. It's on youtube just type in Creekview Band 2007 and it should be the first and second videos. I personally like the second one better. It was the first contest of the season. And yeah it's like crazy easy drill because we have new directors this year and they didn't know what we could handle. Last year's show was WAY better in my opinion plus the guard is WAYYY better also in the '06 one (we just lost our guard instructor and a bunch of people also). Type in Creekview Band 2006 and it's the first one if you want to see last year's show (the one that almost got into finals at BOA SA in '06). But there were only 12 spots that year and there are normally 14 (we got 14). They are NOTHING compared to Cedar Park.

  4. Cedar Park. You got me really confused before...

    where do you go to?

    .....Creekview..... :\

By the way, I REALLLLLLY enjoyed y'alls show this year! It was awesome and on my top five favorites. :]]

  5. yeh, see then you're in a different region than i am. its so complicated; our region changed and i don't know who i'm going up against at my area, but if your area is in abeline, i don't think i'm gonna go up against you. unless we both make state :)

Haha there must have been some miscommunication. I don't play flute/piccolo. My friends do. That's who I was talking about. :P

  6. wow that really stinks for her.

hey, GARRETTxFLOWERS, what area is creekview in this year? you got me a little nervous :)

Another note: We are the area that goes trys out in Abeline. With all of the Marcus, Hebron, Collyville Heritage, and Flower Mound kids too. ^_^

  7. I'll be at Creekview tomorrow!

    Region Orchestra concert!

Anyways, I think they changed numbers on people that made region band as well this year for us. We had 10 my freshman year, last year they took 7, and I think they took 9 this year... weird how those numbers don't stay consistent.

What time are you getting there? And if you're in the Symphony Orchestra, the piccolo player is ours. :D

  8. hey, i'm a flute/picc player from cedar park. where are ya'll from?

i know this was started for last year, but you're right, there aren't a lot of flutes players on this site.

i'm going to area on piccolo, so do any of you know what the competition is going to be like? i've never gone to area before, and this is my first year trying on picc, so idk how good everyone else will be. is anyone from your school going, or has gone in the past, so i know what i'm up against, and are any of you going?

Our (Creekview) piccolos OWNED (got 1st and 2nd chair) at possibly the hardest region in the state and were the only ones advancing to area. One is a sophmore and it's her first year to tryout on piccolo and the other is a junior who missed state by two or three chairs last year. The sophmore beat the junior. So depending on what area you go to, watch out! ;)

  9. i really enjoyed creekview's show. although it was relatively easy, it was performed very well. the whole puppet theme was genious.

It was relatively easy because the directors came up with the concept in one week and then wrote the music in two weeks. So that's why it was easy because they didn't want to pile everything on us. THANK YOU so much for the compliment though! ^_^ Next year is going to be better because they now know our capabilities and can come up with harder music and drill for us.

  10. I love the idea of Creekview show, however, I think that more puppet visuals should be added throughout the show and balanced a bit more. I felt that the beginning had tons of actions, but the towards the end, they weren't really present. Creekview also sounded really good too. I really liked their show in general. The drum majors acting into the visuals even made it cooler. They've improved quite a bit since last year. Creekview, good job!

We were just trying to get the drill out there. (Most of those long stand still moments in part IV were for places for visuals pretty sure because our director said more eye candy will be added.) Thank you for the complement!! by the way y'all sounded realllllly good in warm-up but i didn't hear y'all in finals. =[

  11. late response, but anything that involves marionnette dance moves wins in my book! lol i know weird attraction.

it's not really dance moves like hebrons ddr stuff. it's like we are being controlled by the puppet master. so basically choreography to look like marionettes. that's cool that someone thinks the show will be good though thanks! :)
