  3. Frontier Performing Arts Association (FPAA) and the Turtle Creek Chorale (TCC) are sharing the stage for a second time. Join FPAA and TCC at the Meyerson Symphony Center in downtown Dallas on April 2nd & April 5th at 8 p.m. for a show entitled 'Songs of Our Nation'. "Major events and social movements in America have always been accompanied by musical expression," said Dr. Timothy Seelig, Artistic Director for TCC. "The songs are as varied as the people. Yet the themes expressed are common to all: freedom, justice and equality. Singing is as American as baseball, ballots and apple pie. Even in the darkest of times, there is always humor and an irrepressible lust for life. What could be more American than 'Shenandoah','Strike Up The Band', 'Chattanooga Choo Choo', 'Over the Rainbow' or 'Blowin' in the Wind'. You will leave this concert tapping your toes and humming your favorite tunes." FPAA is represented in the TCC concerts by Frontier Drum & Bugle Corps and Open Range brass ensemble. 7. 2006 Frontier Open House; First Camp Update January 15, 2006 The third weekend of January hosted the first camp of the 2006 season. Rehearsals were held in Carrollton, at Creekview High School and the members happily welcomed the cool Texas weather, which is quite a change from our summer camps. We experienced a great turn out of alumni and new members which after the welcome meeting held by Chris Green, executive director and Jeff Nelson, assistant corps director, broke into sections and began rehearsing. "The organization as a whole extended a warm welcome that was all about one group focused on a common goal," Sam "Wombat" McGee, former Racine Kilt and new Frontier member. The morning sectionals were productive and successful. The color guard worked on equipment basics and a routine featuring the flags, rifles and sabres. The pit and battery practiced exercises. The brass spent the am hours working on fundamentals with Chris Green and Ensemble Brass Tech - Roger Williams. In addition to playing exercises a piece by Eric Whitacker entitled "Lux Arumque" and also "Firedance" arranged by Chuck Naffier our 2006 show closer were rehearsed too. All sections broke for lunch and upon return enjoyed some fresh air and marching fundamentals. Marching Caption Head, John
