For certain practices, we had our staff go on the field during a performance and give us ratings on how well we performed, both visually and musically. I never saw an on-field judge get trapped in a form, but during one of those practices with staff on the field, I nearly KO'd our head director (read: assistant director; the guy classed as the assistant director, Mr. Burton, is the one who actually runs the marching band, while Mr. Stultz acts like an assistant director. This role is reversed during the concert season). I was marching backwards with an alto sax and he was behind, looking at people behind, and he didn't see me. All the sudden, I ran in to something and heard an "Oooff!!". Fortunately, Mr. Stultz is a little heavier than I am and didn't get plowed down. -Max
