  1. I wonder if we will ever know if they approached local bands and band staying in hotels tonight to see if they would be willing to go earlier so that the bands that have to drive a bit of distance could have a better shot of making it thanks to the weather...
  2. Yep. Like not have a 6:45 before the crack of dawn performance time. Or move local bands to early slots. Or if bands have been lucky enough to have hotels tonight in San Antonio, ask them to perform earlier slots. Dripping Springs: Beautiful show. One of my picks for finals. Leander: Their show is so KILLER! Top 5.
  3. No way. Wow. They're a top 5 band! I can't believe this. Seems like a failure on BOA's part here. Sad to see Dripping Springs and Anderson drop out as well. Love their shows. But Leander out? <expletive deleted>
  4. Looks like Vista Ridge is 11:15 AM. Weather permitting the drive down!
  5. I've reached my quota of "likes". Since I couldn't "like" your comment, I'm just reposting it
  6. And we have a winner! Round Rock as well. If they must alter the existing schedule, do so so that the closest schools (and those lucky enough to be in hotels in San Antonio) go earliest. Let the farthest out schools go later in the day. Otherwise, stick to what you already have planned. Leave the schedule as is and tack today's band on to the end.
  7. Bowie was already scheduled for 7:15 tomorrow. That's what I mean. Why change it? Anyone with the early time slot is going to have to face the possibility of weather. Everything you're saying applies literally to every other band. The Leander schools have farther to drive than Bowie. Round Rock has farther to drive. Pflugerville has farther to drive. I'm sure there are other schools that have farther to drive as well. How about they accomodate all the schools that have a long drive tomorrow. If they're going to change the schedule, change it so that those that have the shortest drive gets the earliest time slots and those with the longest drive get the later time slots. They should have left the schedule as is and not have changed it though. That would have been easiest.
  8. Because there was aleady a schedule in place for tomorrow that didn't have to be altered. Bowie already had plans for their 7:15 time slot. Why change it? Why change anyone's time for tomorrow? There was no need for it. The only people that should really have to worry about altering anything for time and scheduling are the 7 bands moving to tomorrow from today. Also, saying "there is little to no chance that AISD would have allowed Bowie to attend at their scheduled time" holds true to ANY band getting scheduled at 6:45, 7:00, or 7:15 tomorrow. BOA should have kept it simple by leaving the current schedule in place and tacking today's bands on to the end of the current schedule. Simple. Easy. No one but today's bands have to change plans.
  9. So? It's a Saturday night. It's not affecting school schedules for kids. Shouldn't be affecting too many work schedules for parents (hopefully). And no one has to get up at 2:30 / 3:00 AM and risk driving through potentially dangerous conditions. Besides, you're still adding 7 slots throughout the entire day. The only thing you shift is 2 slots early to 2 slots later. Add the slots to the END of the current schedule. Not that hard...
  10. Just heard the weatherman say intense weather 3:00 AM, 4:00 AM, 5:00 AM. Wow...
  11. 6:45? Seriously? This is a bit ridiculous. <edit> No, this is just stupid. What is BOA thinking? </edit> Why don't they just leave the schedule as is and add 7 slots to the END of it? How hard can that be? No one has to change any plans except the 7 bands! I can't wrap my mind around that one. <edit> 6:45? Still dark. Roads potentially still covered in water. Nothing dangerous about this at all... </edit>
  12. This was just posted on the BOA website: Saturday, October 31, 2015 Recent weather has impacted the travel of many of the bands enrolled in the San Antonio show. MFA officials are continuing to work with the participating band directors on any issues. Updates are being made as they are confirmed and we will update the Saturday scheduled after 8 p.m. local time tonight. So I guess we'll know after 8:00 this evening.
  13. This totally stinks. Those poor kids! They have worked their tails off! Their show is really really good. I feel sorry for them. I woulda loved to have seen their show one more time.
