actaully cy falls farly out performed langham today. when i first posted it i didnt realize how many people were saying how good cy falls did today. i just really like mortan ranches show and really dont like cy falls show.

wait are you saying that only those five bands are going to area.

in my opinion Morton Ranch is a stronger contender than Cy falls. I very well could be wrong.

Langham had two bad tears, one in movement 1 and one in movement 5, but still got all 1s.

I'm surprised you didn't put Langham on there considering they have made state since 1996 and state finals 6 times. I am really biased towards Langham considering i go there, but i just wanted to point that out.

Very true. Langham ALWAYS plays really intricate classical music while marching while seven lakes does huge almost anoyying brass hits going past good sound and covering up the woodwind color in the band. That is why all these other bands get better marching points, because they march, stop, play, and repeat. if you look at past scores Langham almost always has higher music ordinals, and one of the reasons we dont have as high marching ordinals is for one - we don't learn drill until way later than other bands because our bent leg marching style is way harder to max out the fundamentals on and to learn, so these other band spend way more time cleaning there drill while were still learning our drill, and two - we actually play 16th notes WHILE moving. We dont stop and do some really easy body while playing, we actually move. no offense to any bands, but this is just my personal opinion, and i just wanted to vent for a little bit.

that's what I'm saying though, BOA is more about the entertainment value of the "show" rather than actual musical and marching skill of the band.

i really hate how UIL is more of a BOA type judging system now. honestly BOA judging is more about the concept then the actual skill, more about the acting in the show rather than the music and marching. Basically if you have giant glowing props and lots of brass hits you will do good in BOA.

I'm kind of curious about Cy woods. they make state in 2010 then slowly decline over the years. what happened?

all i know is that anything could happen. i mean look at cy falls, they were top four in prelims last year then dropped to 5th and they didnt make state. its all about your performances at area.

looking forward to state with you guys. you beat us in 2012, so this is going to be an interesting year.

Fantasy, sort of a old timey french theme i guess you could say. The color guard and the props are both kind of clown looking.

I play the clarinet and I'm a junior, so i marched state back in 2012 (greatest high school experience so far) . langham has such a really rich and successful history and i think we can really make an impact this year.

i go to Langham and usually one of the parents puts up a video by now, but i cant find any. Our show is specially arranged so most of the music is just lots of different cuts from various classical arrangements, but as soon as i find a video i will put it right here.

i did not know that thanks for correcting me. From recent contests i thing the top contenders for state would be langham, fair, falls, and seven lakes. im sure clements will be up there too.

Langham also beat Seven Lakes at the Katy marching festival, and Seven Lakes beat Cy fair at the other us bands event. So it could really go any way.
