  1. Ok so mine's not marching related but definitely band related. We went to Indy to the NCBF and we were walking around backstage going to warm up. So we had to go down these concrete steps and just as I get done telling all the girls to hold up their dresses and be careful so they don't trip or anything my foot hit the next step funny (which was already weird since I was wearing heels) and I ate it so bad down those stairs. I fell face first and somehow I landed on the bottom of the stairs on my back looking up at everyone with this look of horror on their faces. It was funny for a split second until I realized it really hurt because I bruised my shin half way up to my knee and somehow hit my head and I was bleeding above my eye. I later learned that I had one friend try to grab my dress but realized she'd come down with me if that happened and I took out another one of my friend's feet from under her but she just had to jump to regain her balance but almost landed on my hand when she did that. Now I think about it, it's really funny but I wasn't too happy that night. I had to play an entire concert and limp on and off the stage.
  2. Wow what a threat! lol But I like it. Our band does something kinda like that at the end of the season called "instrument appreciation day." So the pics get to hold euphs or something and vise versa. It's great to watch some of them suffer because they're not used to holding up a big instrument like that. But at the end of the day you really appreciate your instrument or you really don't.
  3. I'll admit that I thought I wouldn't like it but when I went and saw it, it was really funny. Yeah, Johnny Depp was a little weird in that role, but that's what made it so funny. Think about Pirates of the Caribbean. He made that movie funny, why not this one? Definitely a good movie in my opinion.
  4. Our team had a great season last year! Went to playoff games and everything. We'll have to see about this coming year since we lost all of our seniors who really the reason as to why our team did so well last year. Hopefully the seniors this year can fill the shoes of the seniors last year.
  5. Thanks LordGiggles! I realize that now lol
  6. I agree with Skippy. It's a new thing for new marchers who aren't used to moving the way you're supposed to. It'll get easier. Just don't get too frustrated and you'll be doing just as well anyone else.
  7. What about having something to instant message another member if they're reading the same forums as you? If that's already in place I feel like a complete moron so I'll just get that out of the way now. Just an idea so you don't have to search that users info to see if they have an AIM or yahoo screen name, even if it's posted. Just a thought.
  8. I personally can say that sometimes I don't agree with BOA's judging but I'm not the one that has to judge it and I form my own opinion of what I find entertaining in a marching show. Although I must say that I love the "We are all winners in life" - it's what makes BOA, well...BOA. Without it, it's just like a regular contest. And we can all say that we HATE full band retreats, because I know I hate having put my uniform back on (still nasty and sweaty) and line up and wait for 45 min while the exhibition band performs and we line up and get on the field and they have to announce everyone and wait for everyone to stop clapping and go through all the captions and placements when all we're really thinking is "get me off this field out of my uniform back on the bus in my p.j. pants and let me fall asleep", but we all deep down secretly love it.
