Yah, I was told about the lack of practice thing from your director. he was pretty nervous about it, But I still think you guys looked and sounded really good.

I liked the show a lot as well. Daniel Montoya, if you read this eventually, your music was done great justice. =]

Thanks! I am glad the band has done so well this year! Congrats to everyone on their competition on Saturday.

    Area E

Sorry I do not have all the results, only got a glance at the scoring. The results were unprecedented, from what I heard the State had to be contacted, took 45+ minutes to do the scores.

    Advancing to State

Brenham with a score of 11

Foster with a score of 13

Seven Lakes with a score of 13

Waller with a score of ?? (13 I would guess)

That's right 4 of 6 bands qualifying for state. Really bizarre

    From the UIL CCR:

    (6) Additional Bands. In addition any band that receives a ranking of three or higher from two music judges and one marching judge shall also advance to state

  3. Since the forum is in an upgrading mood, I would like to suggest another change.

I know in other forums, once the total topics reach 15 (or any given number set by the admin) a new page is created. I am not sure what the limit is set on this board, but I see a topic that has 43 posts, but only 2 pages.

Perhaps only my laptop slows down trying to load lengthy topics with the excessive signatures used by some, but maybe lower the number to 10-15?

    Just a thought.

    Thanks!

  5. I wrote a 16th note timing exercise for the front-ensemble last year. I think it's pretty groovy, and I want to get it out there for other students and teachers to enjoy.

Ok, someone please answer this question for me: Is Ronald Reagan going to Grand Nats? I just went to the BOA site and looked under the "enrolled bands" link, only to find Ronald Reagan NOWHERE! Am I just missing something? At first I thought I just missed it, but I honestly can't find it on their performance schedule for the day... wacko.gif

Ronald Reagan is NOT going to Grand Nationals this year.

I agree wholeheartedly with the big chord thing (if you're gonna have a "chain reaction," doesn't it usually end with a BOOM?), but our directors just seem to have a different vision than we do... Ah well, maybe I can persuade them before next saturday...

Can't a "Chain Reaction" end with an implosion too.... happy.gif

McNeil's is going to based on Risigni's overtures, and features William Tell Overture and Barber of Seville. It's gonna be tough but we just got the midi file of the completed music and it sounds amazing. Our drill is being written by the guy who writes the drill for the Madison Scouts. AWESOME!!! We started using him before he got that gig, so he still does stuff for us. Talk about go timing. Anyways, post your shows.

Glad you like the music happy.gif . It also features Grieg's "Morning."
