Bands Advancing to State in order:
1st - Bowie HS. 2nd - CTJ. 3rd - Ronald Reagan HS. 4th - Westlake HS. 5th - Lake Travis HS 6th - Hendrickson HS

I'm not sure how strict the Westlake folks were on the rules, but the LT battery was doing a full-blown warmup in the trailer/bus area well before their scheduled "official" warmup time. I thought it was strange when I saw it, but not sure if there was any penalty as a result of that. They were definitely not announced as a finalist band.
Also, major kudos to the Anderson kids. The sky opened up right before they went on so they scampered back into the building. Ten minutes later they came back out and were set on the field....and another major downpour started. So they ran back into the building again. Through all of that, they were extremely focused and professional.
Our band was not penalized in any way. The judges skipped over our name by accident when they were announcing finalists. And I believe the warmup you are referring to is the warmup we were given after the lightning alarms went off and we were forced back inside the school. When we got outside we started hacking away for a little bit and that may have been what you saw and heard. I wasn't aware of the drumline doing anything other than that.

Lake Travis is 8th Conally is 9th Judson is 7th O'connor is 4th

For those of you not already aware, there was a fluke in the finalists. Lake Travis is a finalist coming in 7th place for the pre-lims. Performed 3rd in the finals.

I've heard quite a bit about Poteet and hope they do get to continue; I find it ridiculous that a band can get disqualified because they have an outside helper on the sound system.

Very true, but I'm trying to make the point that none were in agreement with each other and this is likely the case with Cedar Park.

According to the Prelims recap sheet, Cedar Park was given a double-digit placement by one music judge.
Lake Travis was given a 1,5, and 7 in the Prelims. Those judges were cuckoo...(as in the varying degrees of placement)

Congrats to Marcus, Hebron and Bell!
My band stayed to watch most of the finals, the last band we saw was Hebron. Their show was AWESOME, totally deserving of that placement. What I don't understand though is how CTJ placed at the bottom of the pack, I wasn't expecting that.
