A Band Nerd

Congrats to Marcus, Hebron and Bell! My band stayed to watch most of the finals, the last band we saw was Hebron. Their show was AWESOME, totally deserving of that placement. What I don't understand though is how CTJ placed at the bottom of the pack, I wasn't expecting that.

Bands Advancing to State in order: 1st - Bowie HS. 2nd - CTJ. 3rd - Ronald Reagan HS. 4th - Westlake HS. 5th - Lake Travis HS 6th - Hendrickson HS

Our band was not penalized in any way. The judges skipped over our name by accident when they were announcing finalists. And I believe the warmup you are referring to is the warmup we were given after the lightning alarms went off and we were forced back inside the school. When we got outside we started hacking away for a little bit and that may have been what you saw and heard. I wasn't aware of the drumline doing anything other than that.

For those of you not already aware, there was a fluke in the finalists. Lake Travis is a finalist coming in 7th place for the pre-lims. Performed 3rd in the finals.

They did? *raises rake and prepares to chase them* Haha no; I could care less but it is news to me that they did this.

I've heard quite a bit about Poteet and hope they do get to continue; I find it ridiculous that a band can get disqualified because they have an outside helper on the sound system. GOOD LUCK CONTINUING ON POTEET!

Very true, but I'm trying to make the point that none were in agreement with each other and this is likely the case with Cedar Park.

Lake Travis was given a 1,5, and 7 in the Prelims. Those judges were cuckoo...(as in the varying degrees of placement)
