  1. Slow movements, or ballads, Give a little bit of contrast in the show so it's not the same thing over and over again. They are also a way to show off your bands marching fundamentals
  2. The "marcher of the week" thing doesnt make sense....because, pit doesnt march. Obviously, they are about of the band, but they dont march therefore, making pit a "marcher of the week" is void.
  3. Ahhh...I've wondered this as well. First off, about loading stuff, pit rolls a few things outside, then the equipment crew (none of which, are in pit), loads stuff. Going to practice...our field is really close by. So, the pit rolls their stuff there, but then after rehearsal, our band directors make us take stuff back to our band hall. And they freak out when we dont get the chimes or like, a tiny xylophone. And they dont do stretches, run, or anything.... so...ours get a lazyness credit. (oh, and at contest, our EQUIPMENT CREW unloads pit stuff and it's always right next to where we enter the field)
  4. Trumpet: Yamaha Beginner..... i know. shun me. >.> Mouthpiece: Bach 7c all around. I'm workin on getting a 3c Range: lets just say ... double/triple pedal up to, on a good day, a weak high E flat (like, above high c. i'm workin on it) Chair: 3rd chair, Top band. as a sophmore. I should be 2nd...but my section leader gets seniority and leadership rights.... As for our trumpet line... The top 4 trumpets are pretty good. Our best trumpet player made Orchestra and State as a freshman. He also went to state solo and ensemble for both reasons. and region jazz...he's a beast. (he did all that as a freshman). Ya'll may recognize the name.... Jake Oien. ^.^ (thats not me, but my friend.)
