  1. Holy cow lol!!!!! The judging lol! The judges score are usually within 1-2 points of each other and usually the top ranked bands have really low scores (one digit), but I guess not! I guess there was not much consensus in judging this year ><
  2. Even though the Centennial Marching band did make third 2 years ago, Centennial band has gone through a lot. We don't know what the band situation is. For starters, they could have lost a lot of key players over the period of those two years. Another thing is that they also had a head director change, which could also be a factor. These are all just assumptions, but the musicians and the director have not been a constant factor. A fact is that Centennial was indeed running on little sleep due to the fact that they had a football game before area and they had to go first for area competition. So a second performance might have been a huge decider for them just as it did for them two years ago at State, how they ended up at 7th? and ended up in 3rd. So it is quite unfortunate, not just for them, but other bands that could have benefited from a second performance. These are just my opinions and assumptions
  3. I sorta have to say, I can possibly see why you say that. Watching the most recent video of Cedar Park's marching show, I saw that there were a lot of mental mistakes after the first movement. Some marchers were moving when everyone around them were standing still, the lines weren't straight, and horn angles weren't all the same at some point. And comparing that to their state performance last year, they sorta looked weaker. So I can see why you would say that. But don't get me wrong, Cedar Park is still exceptional! I have just been trained to pick out a lot of the little things in marching.
