This year, at one of our football game the day before area tryouts I tripped a few people. It was a nightmare! I'm a junior and I've never fallen or tripped when performing a show to an audince but that night went totally wrong. So, we're marching our first movement, me with the saxophones, when we get to the second to last set of the movement where were jazz running backwards, and I decide to watch our diagonal by guiding to the shadows on the field. Boy that was a mistake. Before I knew it I stepped on the person behind me and caused them to come crashing to the ground, I was able to dodge her....but the rest weren't so lucky. She didn't think to role (of course she probably wouldn't have had time to get out of the way any way because we were jazz running) so the person in front of me fell over her while she was still leaning over on the ground trying to get up. Now, I totally stopped marching and I'm just watching the disaster unfold. I hear the crowd behind me go "Ooohhhhhhh," but little did I realize that it wasn't over yet. Next, a third person came jazz running backwards and fell over the two people I watched rolling around on the ground, to make it three rolling around people. I felt terrible. Luckily the movement finally ended where the second two to fall were okay and rushed to their ending, sets but the first person, who I origionally tripped, had to limp off of the back of the field to the track. I made it to my ending set just in time to start the third movement. What a tragedy! Also to my dismay, our film crew filmed us from the field in stead of up top in the stands so I don't even get to relive the marching nightmare again and again. In conclusion, if anyone else has some marching show story gone wildly wrong please share now, I'm sure it can't be much more embarrasing than this one!

We had our drumline a page away from the rest of the band. An ENTIRE PAGE.

We had a mp3 play at the beginning of our show last year, and at BOA SA it skipped the first page. The band stepped off with the drum major, and the drumline stepped off/started playing with the mp3. It was pretty nervewracking/horrible.

Thankfully, they stopped at the end of the intro and didn't play the first note of the opener, so we got it back together for the most part... but everyone was pretty shaken up nonetheless.
