Mark Time Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 The Austin Stars are happy to announce the addition of Chris Montemayor to the position of percussion caption head and arranger. Chirs is the percussion head for the Texas State 3A semi-finalist Taylor High School marching band. He also wrote and taught for the Lockhart and Smithville high school bands this year. For the previous 6 years, he was the instructor and arranger for the Dripping Springs HS band percussion section. Chris is an alumnus of Southwest Texas State University where he studied percussion performance and music education. The Austin Stars are a new all-ages drum & bugle corps and will hold its first Open House and inaugural rehearsal on Saturday, November 18, 2006 from 9am to 3 pm. at Taylor High School, 3101 North Main St. in Taylor, Tx. There will be an informative meeting with Q&A and a video presentation in the morning followed by a brass and percussion rehearsal in the afternoon. Membership in the corps is open to people of all ages who have previous experience in marching band, drum & bugle corps, color guard or drumline. The corps program coordinator, brass caption head and arranger, Brent Unger, is an alumnus of Star of Indiana Drum & Bugle Corps. Brent was the founder of Music City Legend Drum & Bugle Corps from Nashville, Tennessee and most recently was a brass instructor with the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Quote
