But, I think we can come with a few takeaways. Jordan can run with 7L (beating them in music in prelims and visual Prelims and finals). At the end of the day the judges still choose who they thought was best on that run. there's still 2 weeks so time to get clean and refine shows so things can change. I am excited to see how everyone progresses over the next 2 weeks. I know all bands will be gunning to get as good as they can. And Jordan, and Cinco will be petal to the metal to try to get that state spot. ChristopherRoden 1 Quote

Brahms Symphony No.3 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 1. 7 Lakes 2. Bridgeland 3. Jordan 4. Cy Fair 5. Cy Woods 6. Cinco Ranch 7. JET 8. Tompkins 9. Langham Creek 10. Cy Ranch 11. Katy ChristopherRoden 1 Quote
Sideswiperr Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 1. Seven Lakes - Honestly what pops for me at the moment 2. Bridgeland - Great performance energy 3. Cy-Woods - Very strong show this year, would love to see them in state finals. 4. Jordan - Also a very strong show this year, I think this is the show that'll get them to state. I loved what I saw during KMF, my god was just amazing, really impressed with Jordan. I'd personally like to see Jordan go into the top 3, I can only hope. 5. Cy-Fair - just based on what I see at the moment 6. Cinco Ranch - this could switch with Cy-Fair, just needs some cleaning but I enjoy these shows. 7. Tompkins - Love the pink, this could switch out with JET, Cy-Ranch, and even Langham if they pedal to the metal these last few days before the area. 8. Cy-Ranch - I could see this placing around 7-10, I was really impressed with this show, cool jazz stuff happening, JET, Tompkins, and Cy-Ranch were very close at KMF, though I don't know how well KMF translates to the new UIL sheets, this is a good toss up between these three groups. 9. JET - This is literally interchangeable with 7th and 8th, unpredictable IMO, and I'm not sure how these groups will play out, I could be wrong, anything in this area can happen for some reason. 10. Katy - didn't get to see this show, so perhaps they've also sky rocketed. 11. Langham Creek - a huge fan of this show design right here, phenomenal performance, they just need to clean up some musical and visual things, I think they've stepped up the difficulty of their show so their content is great, say they pedal to the metal they can place QUITE well here at area, will be a solid show. 12. Paetow 13. Jersey Village 14. Me In all seriousness these predictions are likely wrong, I have no degree or expertise in any of this so take this all with a spoonful of salt. Good luck to everyone at region. We will have some indicative idea of how this MIGHT, MIGHT(you never know with this area) play out. ChristopherRoden 1 Quote
ChristopherRoden Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Hard to know what to make of the top 2 Cy schools since they haven’t performed in a while. Could see either one of them anywhere from 1 to 6 at this point. Bridgeland’s show is dazzling for sure but I could see them out of the top 3 for music. Not that they’re any worse this year, but their competition has really stepped it up! Quote
tubapop Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Bridgeland will take first. Seven Lakes is executing really well, but there are elements of their visual design that I think will keep them down a bit. We’ll see. i also put Jordan over Cy woods, but again will see. ruben_f and ChristopherRoden 2 Quote

Bridgeland will likely take 1st, and 7L will probably end up between 2-4. I’ll post my prediction once Jordan place at Gulf Coast Classic. (Gulf Coast Classic is using the UIL state judging rubric, kind of similar to the new judging rubric for area.) Jordan definitely has a shot at making the top 3/4 at area ChristopherRoden 1 Quote
Brahms Symphony No.3 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Here are my ranges 1. Bridgeland (1-3) Zero decline has been shown from Bridgeland but I feel like their show isn't nearly as intense as the past 2 years but still probably safe to say they'll be the area champion 2. 7 Lakes (1-3) Incredible show, definitely wouldn't be surprised if they make state finals again this year, could see them taking over as kings of this area 3. Jordan (1-4) There is a world where I can see them winning this area especially with the statement they made at KMF it's been a big year from them and I don't think state finals is impossible if they make it there 4. Cy-Woods (3-5) Definitely don't see them falling out of making state this year definitely very different than their cat show last year and I think this show will do very well in a UIL setting 5. Cy-Fair (3-6) Relatively similar situation to Cy-Woods I really don't see any of these 5 schools not making state this year unless there's only 4 state spots 6. Cinco Ranch (5-6) Definitely a very big year for Cinco, they proved lemons wasn't just a one off success and that they are continuing to grow year after year, state is a very real possibility especially if there's 6 state spots 7. Tompkins (7-10) BIG fan of this show, I love the pink and think they could definitely do very well at area with their unique design. However I do think that there is a considerable gap between the top 6 schools and everyone else in this area. 8. JET (7-10) I haven't seen their show this year but from what I've heard there definitely has NOT been a decline I think they fit very well in this bubble 9. Cy-Ranch (7-11) They took incredible strides this year and I think perhaps found their niche with the whole jazz thing, very cool visually show and the results at KMF were proof of their growth 10. Langham Creek (7-11) Have a very cool show and definitely have the ability to reach the top of this bubble, they just need to put in the work to do so. 11. Katy (8-11) I could see them placing anywhere in this bubble especially with their cool drill, it's just hard to rank all these bands with all the growth we've had this year! All of these rankings are probably completely wrong, don't take any of what I say seriously! I have no idea what I'm talking about just thought it would be fun to do this. ChristopherRoden 1 Quote

There was a long period where houston would only put 1 into state finals consistently (TWHS) and now to have previous state finalists Pearland, North Shore, Bridgeland, Cy Fair, 7L as well as finals hopefuls Dawson, Jordan, Cy Woods, and College Park in that conversation is a testament to the hard work the kids and directors have done in the Houston area! keep it up AWF2014 1 Quote

TrumpetDad2027 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 I just hope Region contests get us at least 5 spots. 4 spots would be certain to leave a really good school on the outside looking in, and possibly someone we thought going in was for sure going to State. Even with 5, there will be good bands on the outside looking in. I always expect at least one surprise. I am still sticking with Bridgeland and 7L as my locks. But honestly, a bad run in Finals could even have one of these two wondering what happened if a bubble school goes flawless. Not likely, but not impossible. This Area is a beast this year.
