Yay for Churchill! Its good that they didn't leave it the way it was, I don't understand how they messed that up though..... x_x reminds me of the Westwood/Westlake incident, people need to look over what they're gonna do before they do it -.-;;

Bell was the only band I got to see at BOA SA (twice from the tunnel before we went out and once for their encore) and oh my god, I couldn't care less that I saw nothing else. Phenomenal. They sounded amazing, they looked amazing, and I had chills the whole time watching it, my jaw was also to the floor the entire time. Excellent job, Bell, loved it, loved it, loved it. As for everyone else, it is unfortunate I didn't get to see you, I wish I could have seen more x_x but those going to state and nats, gooooood luck! And those going to state, see you there!

To note, I think Ronald Reagan has some secret contract with the BOA DVD makers - b/c their shows ALWAYS look cool during all 8 minutes on the video - in reality I think Reagan just must have the world's most showiest shows, so that no matter where you look at any moment something WICKED cool is going on... cept maybe that one time in 2003 during that sound system catastrophe that sounded like a whale lol...
Are you kiiiiidding me?! I haaaaaaaaaaaaate multi-cam so much. When my and my friends sit around to watch the shows (god we're losers) we always get mad because they feature the wrong moments. I'm soooo happy about the high-cam thing, thats the only thing I watch on my grand nats dvd

lol exactly what I though when I heard everone was getting new uniforms, but Carmel got them last year.
We get them every 7 years I believe, I think it may be a UiL rule or something... I dunno, some sort of rule? Maybe not.
Someone mentioned our side plumes and whether or not it was optional, and yes, its optional, front or off to the side. I don't know how I feel about our plumes this year, I like them with the white wraps but I don't like the type of plume by itself. Its the kind that sort of... droops down, our old ones were fluffy and I liked that, hah

If you want to take the musical books into consideration, I would also like to mention that Universal Expressions was not easy to pull off. Churchill had a fairly difficult musical book and drill as well (I feel not many people appreciate Churchill 2004...they made blind "follow the leader" formations look easy).
I think the show overall was a little out of Reagan's reach (not the whole time, only at certain points) in 2004. I would also agree with the statement that Reagan was not a true playing band until last year, but even so, they performed fairly well at state in 2004. I just think about it and I wonder, despite my love for the show, how Reagan was a state finalist in 2004. At UIL, it's supposed to be about who has the cleanest show with the most demanding music and drill, or something along the lines of that.
That playing Mary Had a Little Lamb comment reminds me of something our director always tells us. Sometimes, if we mess up pretty badly on something, he will make a comment that sounds something like this...
"If this music and drill is too hard for you, we can set up in a block, march the box drill, and play the Bb scale for 5 minutes. That's all you have to do to get a first division!" I don't know why, but I get a crack out of that every time. I just for once want to see a band at a contest marching the box drill and playing a Bb scale.
(Yes I go to Reagan, no I'm not going to say anything about any of our shows)
Yeah, from multiple people, I've always been under the impression that at UiL it doesn't matter what you're marching or playing, just how you're doing it. My sister told me something like, "You could march out, do a box drill and play the Patterson choral and as long as you execute it perfectly, you'll win state."

All of the region auditions should be this Thursday, Friday, Saturday, but they should be this week
Well..... I had them last week, then we've them again on monday. I'm so new to this, I didn't even make district last year 'cause when I was playing the music I kind of looked off and got distracted then when I looked back at the music I didn't know where I was so I got confused and played a bunch of random notes untill I figured out where I was again >.< made stupid 14th chair. So this year I have noooo idea what I'm doing x_x I'm gonna practice like crazy tomorrow... I have to relearn my stupid scales for semester auditions for school too 'cause I forgot them all

Has no one else done district/region auditions yet?

Has anyone seen the new show on Adult Swim, Boondocks?
No, but I want to! I saw the ad for it but I haven't had the time to watch [as] as of late. >.<;; Is it funny? I love [as], watched it like every night over the summer when I had time.
Another random question to start conversation: anyone bought/played Soul Calibur III? I think I'm gonna buy it this weekend because I love the SC games. Anyone know if it's any good?

I say it goes to LD Bell, they're just a great bunch of cool classy kids that are real nice no matter what the outcome of the contest

Hmmmm... seems to me that if the way they did it was because Duncanville made highest by two judges and Reagan made highest by two judges, than wouldn't their original order be Duncanville, Reagan, Churchill before they realized they messed up? My guess is their "they made this many 1s so they win" business is a cover-up for the fact that they did it the right way but UIL judges just can't count.
