Isn't Lonestar just happy to have made it to finals? It probably wasn't super likely they'd get a medal considering the competition, so why is it so bad to be in 8th place and not 5th place or whatever? Would it really have made that much of a difference? I'm just flummoxed with all of this - there were so many schools who would have been ecstatic just to make it into finals. They should be proud of what they got!

Thanks so much for your kind response. We really felt we had an excellent shot at area finals this year - especially after doing well at Cap City (2nd in prelims, 3rd in finals), having a great new team of directors, and a strong freshmen class. But, we should do good at US Bands - and there's always next year!
